Another curio for TV spotters recently: BBC's Question Time featuring Eno had the Grumpy Brain One sitting next to Conservative MP Julie Kirkbride. She's married to fellow Conservative MP Andrew Mackay. Spooky eh? Additionally, there is some groovy music featured on one of the endless improve/sell/relocate house programmes which, if it isn't a rework of IEDHAH, has a curiously similar chord progression. IEDHAH also featured in its original form on a recent fascinating philosophical UK TV documentary about modern western anxiety. Can't remember guy's name (though to these sad eyes he bore a striking similarity to a taller, younger Eno) or be bothered enough to look it up, but you're probably all snoozing by now anyway . . . Anyway - Christopher Eccleston as the new Doctor, eh? Break out the Green Dalek Trousers and celebrate :) Hope (feebly) that the original Delia Derbyshire-realised version of the Doctor Who theme (described in Andy Mackay's 'Electronic Music' as 'perhaps the best known of all electronic compositions') is sourced at least for the new show. See the following URL for a quote from him about Bryan Ferry: http://www.insultmonger.com/celebrities/popular_music_1.htm I found the quote funny anyway! - -joel . __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Sometimes the song is a reference to the dialogue over the top, but I think this was just an instance of an unlikely pub jukebox tune being picked by a visitor from outside the regular cast of musical know-nothings that inhabit the Square. I'm sure Ferry will get booted off next time they come round to maintain the machine! I noticed Goddess of Love playing in the Vic last week, when Sharon was "snogging the face off" Dennis (her brother not her father). As I only watch the omnibus while comatose on a Sunday, thank you very much Tracy for ruining the plot!!
