Now I have to say that I felt sick to the stomach literally hearing those talentless nobodies Busted destroying one of the all time great punk songs The Undertones Teenage Kicks. And lastly The Darkness they are crap aren't they or is it just me.Alan ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Feb 2004 11:21:41 -0500 From: KB Porter Subject: Re: [AVALON] The uninteresting life of Bryan Kari, thanks for sharing this interview with us! I can not resist offering a general comment about the next to the last sentence, copied below. [... He said: "I lead a very uninteresting life, really..."] It is interesting (at least to me), how many individuals, whose lives may be of interest to various groups of 'onlookers', truly feel their individual life is 'uninteresting'. I've always assumed that they meant their lifestyle, while not mainstream or 'normal, in everyday terms', is not really 'remarkable' because 'routine' regulates their time and actions in the same way that every individual falls into a routine while living one's life. - Basically, the routine of travel, work, and recreation coupled with everyday needs and wants is fundamentally an aspect of life shared in common. The things that make one person's life interesting to outside entities has nothing to do with what must be present within the subject's mind in order for the subject to feel its life is personally interesting. Only through identification, acknowledgment, acceptance, and appreciation of ones own unique existence is one able to feel his/her life is interesting. 'Know thyself'. And, give peas a chance (you might like them). Or, give pizza chants ("pizza, pizza..."). Then be sure to 'give peace a chance' (within and without). They DO have a talent ... in so far as they know how to play the roles given by their puppetmasters. > And lastly The Darkness they are crap aren't they or is it just me. > Alan The second option - you're just crap. :P I jest! I dunno - The Darkness are never going to be regarded as a 'great' band, let alone a 'very good' band. But in terms of mainstream chart pop/rock music it's nice to see a group who write their own material (listenable fodder, but throwaway stuff) and who can play their instruments competently. The debate over whether they're just a one-off/tongue-in-cheek retro rock outfit is a seperate issue. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
