But then the former Roxy Music frontman brightly reconsidered: "Never mind, I'm on holiday!" And an enviable holiday it has been -- criss-crossing Australia for the past two weeks indulging his passions for fine art, fine wine and fine food in between concerts. Clad in a seersucker jacket, jeans and ostrich-leather shoes, Ferry lolled on the deck at Moorilla Estate and observed: "I just love harbours. "I like being in cities that have water around them." It took some imagination to envisage the quietly spoken Englishman up on stage working a frenzied crowd while attired in one of his trademark retro suits. "They're custom-made by Hedi Slimane at the house of Dior, not something that I've had in my wardrobe since the 1980s," Ferry was quick to point out. Ferry, who is visiting Tasmania for the first time, said he planned to relax today. "I'll just wander about, I think. What I always do is go to the art gallery in each place I visit. "Usually you meet nice people at art galleries. "There are beaches here, I've heard, so I might have a look at one of those, actually, if that's a good idea." Assured that it would be a very good idea indeed, he contemplated hiring a helicopter to take him to Wineglass Bay. Ferry dismissed interstate tabloid reports that he would be winding up his tour with a romantic getaway. He said: "I lead a very uninteresting life, really. I'm newly divorced and have no romantic affiliations at the moment." ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V9 #44 *************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
