As done before with the Aberdeen show, I send 4 free copies to volunteers to carry on the distribution. Ole-Petter Drxnen is already ok to give away in Europe. 3 more volunteers please. I am always looking for trades to complete my collection. I began trading few months ago (Thank you Simon) and I would appreciate to get new shows. From Roxy/Ferry and many others. I update my trading list at www.tapetrader.com/sorladelo Please have a look at it and see if we could arrange a trade. If you are just beginning with trading boots, you need special attention and I can send some more free copies. Give me your address. I don't sell. I have been asked about the file. What I send is a RealMedia file, so you will still watch the show with RealPlayer software exactly in the same way as if you were connected at the AVO web site. Except the file is on a CD. You can use all the facilities of the software like listening LST without having to listen to the whole show. If you know other Roxy/Ferry RealMedia videos somewhere in the web, please tell me I can do the same. Someday I'll try to save streaming QuickTime files. Be patient, it takes me 3 months for RealPlayer format... Many thanks for all the very kind emails I received. Saw tucked away in the credits another Eddie - Eddie Jobson. Namely: "Choral arrangements by Eddie Jobson with the Bulgarian Women's Choir" Didn't actually notice them during the movie, I must say, but I guess they help pay the mortgage... For the past few months, it's been hard not to notice (since it was first drawn to my attention) the almost lifesize red inflatable Dalek that appears to sit in the front bedroom window of a house in the road that intersects mine. It's not something that would have preyed on my mind for long, but for my 8-yr-old son (birthday today) being an obsessive Dr Who fan. After a few weeks of my wife saying I can't possibly knock on the front door because it's rude, I finally knocked one day. A man answered and I asked who the Dr Who fan in the house was. He told me it was he. I explained that, if it had been a much smaller person, I might have suggested an introduction to my son as he has no friends at the same age who have even heard of Dr Who. Somehow I was soon invited to walk through the house and shown that, outside the kitchen door, stands a lifesize working Tardis. I say working, I mean the light works on top. It's possible that it does not travel through time and space, but it's not the sort of risk one takes when newly introduced to a Tardis. Look what happened to Susan's teachers in An Unearthly Child... Walking back to the front door to leave, I mentioned I once shared a flat in London with the editor of the Dr Who Appreciation Society newsletter. He then mentioned that he knew the name of my erstwhile flatmate and he too was involved in Dr Who publications as a cartoonist. A penny dropped. "Are you Lee?", I asked. "Lee Sullivan?" It occurred to me that he just might be as how many other people have worked Roxy Music members into cartoon form and mentioned Dr Who on the Avalon list? Turns out he was and is. Lee and I have occasionally e-mailed each other offlist over the past few years, the most recent time was about a week before our Chance Meeting. But neither of us knew where the other lived. I now remember he once quoted good prices for Roxy CDs at Luton HMV. But it never occurred to either of us for a second that we would live in literally intersecting roads or that our houses were less than 10 minutes walking distance. The good result from this infinitessimally small chance exchange was that I was invited in for coffee, choccie biscuits and about an hour of giggling and Roxy chat. Brian Eno is but one of many who believes the Internet brings people together; but this is normally interpreted as meaning people from regions and nation states.
