"What if" Roxy got back together for an original studio album: Given that BF has said he hardly writes any music, and we know Manzanera still has his creative juices still flowing, would a new Roxy Music album consist of more Manzanera (and Mackay) tracks than Ferry tracks? . __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Not in the contract, but since he was the founder, he could certainly reject material by others (e. g. Rik Kenton). > "What if" Roxy got back together for an original studio album: Given > that BF has said he hardly writes any music, and we know Manzanera > still has his creative juices still flowing, would a new Roxy Music > album consist of more Manzanera (and Mackay) tracks than Ferry tracks? I'm not sure: do you mean music or lyrics? Mackay and Manzanera have contributed a good share of compositions, but none of the lyrics since Stranded. Music doesn't seem to be the problem for Ferry though - it's the lyrics. However, I can't imagine him shifting the pencil to the others. No tunes equals no hits. Great for the fans, but not for reaching the wider public. I would argue that a reformed Roxy-in-the-studio would sharpen this aspect no end, as the general 'vetting' process would be much stricter and creatively stimulating, even if M & M were not directly involved in a composition.
