Hi All, I got to the Venue early ( I was told a good 3 hour drive, it takes 1.5 ) I Like the front and it was a standing hall, A nice Poster of Bryan on a sandwich board outside, I thought I will have that later ? Panic, booking office & doors open at 7, S***, front of the queue but will have to go get tickets, Colette and her husband ( those names again, sorry) arrived next, round to stage door to try and get Pictures, Jane and friend arrived (names again, need more badges like Edinburgh Princess St Gardens ) Jane's friend had my poster, ( you little thief you ?) The band arrived, poor Julia had a cold, Plenty photos & autographs, I had pictures from Dundee and got them signed, a special thanks to Shaz, I got a little hug and Shaz signed her photo and put my name on, ( I never felt the cold after that ). Bryans car arrived soon after, it had to stop 50 metres up the road and Bryan came sauntering up towards us, Only Bryan Ferry has that suave charisma, Cap and scarf, Long coat, hands in pockets, Bryan looked 10 feet tall and I am sure I saw a hallow ( maybe it was the street lights ? ). Bryan gave us a nice smile as he approached us, Bryan was very pleasant and signed everything given to him, I like the way he stoops down to your height to get pictures taken, My turn, knees shaking and hands trembling, Photo and pen in hand. Bryan already had a pen ( Colette was so nervous she forgot to get her pen back, Bryan standing with my pen in one hand & Colletes in the other ( it was like pass the parcel, all fingers and thumbs ? ) Got a picture I took of Bryan the night before signed, Nice picture he said,( It will be my prized possession for life.) Bryan floated majestically through the stage door out of sight, Jane's friend managed to get the poster she acquired signed, ( at least its going to a good home) Round to the front, I had almost forgot what we were there for ( oops the gig ) and was ready to go home, Pleased as punch. Still at the front of the Queue, John O'Brien, Jocelyn & Loraine arrived, Loraine stays in the frozen north but hates the cold ( take her to Australia John ? ). Doors open, rush for tickets, We all manage to get to the front, ( sorted ) The Aberdonians seemed a bit shy, Forgot the support acts name, they were very good, But found it hard to watch ? Julia comes on to start the show ( Bought her new CD and got it signed, thanks Julia, Like it a lot ), Crowd a bit subdued at first, stood with mouths open in awe, Some prat tried to shove his way to the front, Jocelyn took control and he got booed by all around, ( has anyone ever been thrown out at a Ferry gig before ? ) By the time the Thrill of it all started the crowd came alive, The sound compared to Dundee was fantastic. It got better & better it was probably the best one yet, The Band was in Party mood and Bryan was awesome, Watching Jocelyn, Colette, Jane etc, I know where Bryan got his moves from ? T.G.P.T. either caught them out or made a mistake ? ( caught them out I think ) During Jealous Guy ?. they were doing the main drum beats with there arms and a beat was missed , they all looked at each other sheepishly, But Paul was sitting with a huge grin on his face, trying not to laugh, The set was just the same as Dundee but seemed to last much longer , Perfect, Show Ends, Sigh, back out in the cold, Goodnight Irene I always thought was a strange song to finish with, but could not stop humming it all the way home. Went for a refreshment afterwards with the usual suspects, ( no backstage pass,) A Fish supper then home. I hope you found your car John ?. Thanks to all who helped me have my dreams come true, I hope you enjoyed it as much as me. Anybody know which bus you get to Australia ? Great reviews, and well written. I know what you mean about 'which bus to Australia'. Wish I could have covered the Scottish concerts as well as Middlesbrough. Pity Glasgow wasn't rescheduled!
