The first one is bad enough, my the woman next door insisted on playing loudly all summer, particularly when she was entertaining. I'm surprised it didn't drive the guests away. Rod Stewart sings Bryan Ferry sings the Standards. He could have at least mauled some different songs. On a positive note, just watched Ferry's performance on Fashion Rocks, and it was one of the best of the show. To be honest I was expecting something like that hideous Miss World performance from a couple of years ago... Eugh! The crowd were rocking - they obviously loved it! Personally, I would like to see some more energetic, upbeat, and rockin' tracks added to his repertoire when he records his next album. (More originals please Bryan!). "Baby Blue" came about as close to rockin' it as Bryan has done recently, but that itself wasn't half as boisterous as I would have hoped for. I wait in hope! :D . __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! The entrance was sheer class and style. The way he came down the couple of steps in time with the music and the two girls was great. As we all know Bryan has his own way of moving, usually not in time with everyone else. I am listening to the best release of this year right this minute, and everybody can listen to extracts here: http://www.john-cale.com/ Goodie (and this is from a sworn Lou Reed fan who thought nothing could beat "The Raven" (released earlier this year) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Oct 2003 14:24:37 +0100 (BST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?jeanne=20louise?= Subject: Re: [AVALON] Bryan at Fashion Rocks event He had the loudest reception when he started, the most enthousiastic dancing audience, women in posh frocks sang along,Julia looked great in her black suit and Chris Spedding was very cool as usual.
