His choice, his folly. KB, I think you may have forgotten -- Bryan Ferry sued his wife Lucy for divorce on the grounds of her adultery, which he said she admitted to in the spring of 2000. Lucy did not contest this, and Ferry was granted a "decree nisi" which in British court parlance means he was the wronged party. It was after finding this out that he began nonstop touring. At some point, he found comfort with one of the backup dancers during the reunion tour. Later when confronted with the relationship with Katie Turner in an interview, Ferry said regarding his wife, "she left me first". Do you further recall that Lucy Ferry came to their marriage an alcoholic (see her interview in the British Elle magazine November '85), and while their children were very young, she was not only an alcoholic but had a serious drug habit as well. So if you look at what HE had to tolerate vs. what SHE had to tolerate, I think he emerges hands-down as the more sympathetic figure. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Oct 2003 16:23:38 EDT From: HanSparks1972@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] Frantic schiedam Hello you Roxy guys an' gals. I am already sure in some of the Dutchies they know of new band Frantic, I saw them in Schiedam weekend last in the podiumcafe, fantastic ! Frantic have begun from the end of the Remake Remodel band, who I did not see but heard good good things. 23.00 hours was the time when the new band took stage with A hard rain. To a big surprise after with Dont want to know, very funky. I say my two favorites of the evening next with so long since I hear these songs, Just like you and Amazona. Much new type songs follow which is nice surprise with Going Down, Cruel and Nobody loves me all from frantic album. My wife Jules favourite too in the second set with Your painted smile, one of the best and beautiful in the evening. I love Roxy style strangeness in the long segue to join the In crowd and very funky I put a spell on you, very special time and great sound from the band. Thats how strong my love is was great loud and another surprise with hearing Crazy love. The song for europe is so special with the saxman. Good idea and special to end the evening with very extended work of I thought with fantastic work again from saxophone player. Thanking all you guys so much for fantastic night and hoping to see you in de Salon concert in Vlaardingen 2 November. Hello again to Dutchies and new Scottish roxy friends I spoke with in the evening, and a really good time, thank you. More Than This features on the Soundtrack to Ridley Scott's current movie 'Matchstick Men.' Note to Filmakers! Roxy have done other good songs you know. A review of Suede 'Singles' in Esquire calls their song 'The Wild Ones' 'Karoke Bryan Ferry' Oddly enough Bryan could easily cover the Suede track and make it his own. If he could be arsed. J n/p The Clash 'I Fought The Law' Not strictly true. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V8 #288 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
