No I have not made the call and begged one. I will when I have other business with the promotor, I only pay for Roxy/Ferry/801 stuff. :-) The What's going on 2CD has a great live concert from Marvin Gaye day Washington DC 1972. Partial answer. I liked Deaf School too, very Roxy-esque. I remember that reviews at the time pointing out how much their first album resembled Roxy, as far as the "art school" references like "A Bigger Splash". In the Dept. of Whatever happened to: I don't know about the rest of them, but guitarist Clive Langer went on to become half of Langer & Winstanley, a very successful producing duo (Madness, Elvis Costello, Morrissey and others). Still working. Is the list populated by Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry fans who prefer to write about 'nearly anything, but politics'? Or is RM/BF a dying topic? Gene, thanks for the link to Lester Bangs' Eno article - I'm into the second of the four installments. I particularly enjoy the personalized view that Bangs ascribes to Eno's various techniques in procuring musical material and pretty girls... 'I've figured out, if I lean on a parking meter'... HA! Eno sounds a hoot! Lester Banks summed the irony of Eno's methods, or processes, and their apparent successful outcomes at the beginning of the article. - Sounds so effortless, perhaps Eno IS a Real Charmer of Men, Women and Children of All Ages! Interesting how Eno seems a successful nonchalant cat while Ferry seems dog tired and tersely intense. Still, my affection is with Mr. Ferry, maybe because UnderDog was a SuperHero Because he Always saved PollyPurebred from impeding doom. Give Peas A Chance. Best wishes. Or is RM/BF a dying topic? No KBP it's populated (there are exceptions) by nice people who do have opinions on topics other than RM/BF. I'm sorry if mentioning the sad death of Robert Palmer offended you and clogged up your inbox, but many people on the list share a common interest in the great musicians that we have grown up with. I think you will find that the brief mention of this topic has far more meaning to this list than the endless intellectualising twaddle of your recent 'daylights' thread-get real! As for RM/BF I wasn't aware that much happened yesterday apart from the fact that it was Bryans birthday. Anyway 4 weeks today I'll be standing at the front in Bonn-will you??!
