Best wishes to you as you deal with this. Thank you Jeff. My mother enjoyed music abd liked the mid-70's Roxy, the last Cd I bought her was actually Coldplay, she was 80 at the time. As of synergy, I thought of her as I was downloading my e-mails. Losing a loved one is never easy. I said everything I wanted to tell her before she died and if I can pass on anything to other people. that's it. Daniel ******************* That's excellent advice, and something many people don't realize until it's too late. Take heed, people--always make sure you tell your loved ones the important things, because tomorrow you may never have the chance. There was something seemingly incongrous about the sophisticated Roxy Music and a fairground, but i'm sure they made them an offer they couldn't refuse. The set list was the same as the last few nights. Bryan seemed particularly animated and chattier then usual. The venue was only 2/3 full, but the crowd was very enthusiastic, more so than in 2001 at the Greek Theatre in LA. Half of the men wore Hawaiin shirts, my sister cracked hey look there is a another Hawaiin Ferry. I only hope these aren't the same people who attend Jimmy Buffet's shows. In a local paper write up prior to the show Bryan sounded like he was chomping at the bit to get started on his solo album. So hopefully it won't be long. If their is no next time where do we all go. Running out of time. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Aug 2003 12:05:22 -0500 From: "Jas" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Re: avalon-digest V8 #218 It was my pleasure :))) I have loved this band since 1973. Thursday night was the first time in all those years that I was actually upfront ( well right up Andy's nose.. ha). I was too thrilled to say the least. Sad that they did not do at least one TV show while they were here. They could have made a really big splash and made a long lasting impression on the rest of the nation. So Costa Mesa crowd how was it? I would guess you were only being half-serious ... but here's a serious suggestion for all Roxy fans. The new CD from Tindersticks, "Waiting For the Moon", is excellent ... and they're touring the States right now! Monday in Detroit, Tuesday in Chicago, Seattle on Thursday, the 8th and 9th in S.F. and ending on the 12th in Los Angeles. I've never had the chance to see them before, and the anticipation is running high. Should be a great antidote for Roxy Withdrawal Syndrome. Also going to see (smog) next Saturday. Another great new CD "Supper". Their tour is wrapping up, with six more dates between tonight in Hoboken, and the Chicago show. Always someplace exciting to go. :) James > > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Aug 2003 16:28:09 EDT From: Etherealana@cs.com Subject: [AVALON] Costa Mesa As was stated before, the crowd was pretty animated. Mostly everyone was dancing. The only drawback was this man poking me in the ribs to sit down when everyone and I mean everyone was standing up and dancing in our section. The nerve!! This coming in the middle of Dance Away. Other than that, I had a wonderful time. Geez, Mr. Ferry just gets better with age. Just an observation.
