The album that you refer to, contains music by Mars, DNA, James Chance (The Contortions) and Lydia Lunch (Teenage Jesus and the Jerks),and it's one of the most abrasive releases ever... Up there with Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music... Kind of a classic, though... An interesting document of the nihilistic No Wave movement... And fetching really high prices on eBay... A few questions: 1. It appears that it's available in the UK, but I'm not finding hits on US sites. Anyone know when it'll be released on the left side of the pond? 2. Has anyone bought it yet? Care to comment? Is the sound quality noticeably different? And how about that 12-page booklet that's supposed to come with it? Thanks in advance, Susan (who only last night discovered that her old copy of Avalon is missing, and is relying on hourly Sapphire tonics to quell the panic) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Jul 2003 11:49:56 -0700 From: "mark shanahan" Subject: [AVALON] what the ...? hey there: anyone know what the devil this is? http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008O31G/qid=1057776277/sr=1-3/r ef=sr_1_2_3/702-1424249-0244866 release date 6.3.03 by 'studio pictures' - ?? anyone know anything about this? pic is obviously jobson-era roxy ... tia/ms _______________________________________________________________ Get the FREE email that has everyone talking at http://www.mail2world.com ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Jul 2003 15:19:59 EDT From: OBrienFerry@aol.com Subject: Fwd: [AVALON] what the ...? I bought a pack of 20 sleeves from Staples about 18 months ago they measure 140mm x 140mm. I'm going to Staples tomorrow I will check out the stock situation and let you know. If they have stopped stocking them I think Pc World and Office World sell a similar sized sleeve. Regards. Great idea Marlana, I'll make him "think sex" next time and I'll better go without my daughter then ;-D On the first picture (with only just a small part of me on it), he had just told me *I* should have the Master acetate and I was looking down (on it) very pleased. But I was also a bit displeased! Because I sure wanted to have a much better picture with him, so I couldn't help whimper like a baby wanting her dummy: 'nnnnNNNn!!!' Then Bryan grabbed my shoulder and dragged me so close to him, that I had to use all the strengh I had left to not move veryvery close! Even in that moment I had the presence of mind to ask for a great big smile! But...maybe he smiled too early or too late, but I'm sure you all can see the smile in his eyes, if you make a careful study of the picture (Kari & Bryan) ;-) Nota bene, my photo is much better than the scan! In fact, this is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen of him! I can swear that he didn't even think of a lemon, it was all warm milk and honey, his hands were warmer than mine, but my cheeks were hotter than his, his voice was like silky velvet ..just like mine.
