While it would not surprise me that BF has 'borrowed, bagged or stolen' for his craft, I have to say the above seems to indicate that Tom Verlaine may have stolen, too: "In America sex is an obsession, in other parts of the world it is a fact." Marlene Dietrich (1901 - 1992), Who sort of stole: "Love is an irresistable desire to be irresistably desired." Robert Frost (1874 - 1963), Who no doubt borrowed: "There is no remedy for love but to love more." Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862), Journal, July 25, 1839, After he read: "When love is in excess it brings a man nor honor nor any worthiness." Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC), Medea, 431 B.C. Half seem to be genuinely disappointed, but the other half seemingly not too bothered, as they were unsure whether it was a good idea to resurrect once again, particularly with what would very likely be virtually the same set as 2001. Any views on this ? A lot of people seemed unsure of the whole idea. Is that because of the almost constant touring since 1999, I wonder ?, in a 'familiarity is breeding contempt' type of way ? Would like to hear a few opinions on this. Personally, whilst I looked forward to the gig, it didn't (well, couldn't) have the same feeling as 2001, for obvious reasons. Still, a consolation at least is that Avalonians won't be showing themselves up in front of everyone else in the audience at Hyde Park, by constantly bobbing up and down in their seats all night, turning round and looking behind them, confused and embarrassingly unsure of the exact current stated etiquette re sitting or standing. :) Reecey... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? There would not have been a Ziggy without mr.Coyne, he claimed. I kinda like them both, at least some of their production. They are both quite strange, I think. The reason being that the expected set list for this kind of 'event' would be leaning heavally on the Avalon/JG/My Only Love etc, which quite honestly is boring me ridged now. Perhaps I should use my refund (should I get one, has anyone had any news on this? ) on seeing some new bands.
