So I will be going ahead with this. If anyone else is swithering out there, this is the last chance to place an order. For those who have already placed an order, I will be in touch soon. While not perfect, MUCH better than the multi-day Ring from my last night out. However next time I plan to wear a barbed wire suit. Two loud, drunken zygotes tried to climb my ass to get to the stage front, then doused me in beer when I objected. At least one of them will think twice before doing it again Oddly enough, several others in the audience thanked me afterwards. My membership number is 6912. I still have Ferry postcards Peter Leay wrote, the lyric sheets, booklets, etc. etc. I was getting tour info from the label for some time before I joined the fan club and discovered I could buy all those fabulous Roxy/Ferry items. Still have the Bryan Ferry tie. On the subject of Dylan covers, I'd be extremely happy if we'd seen the last of them. I liked him in his time, but he was not a lasting influence for me. Clearly, he was on Ferry! XXX, Paula And Judy, I wasn't in Texas at the time I joined but was shortly thereafter. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2003 21:42:57 -0400 From: "Helen Thorpe" Subject: [AVALON] Oblique Strategies From: "Theresa Fagan" Subject: [AVALON] The Numberer Speaking of memorabilia, I just amazed myself last week when I was on the website. I wrote to the gentleman that put it together, wondering if the first five hundred sets could be located (registered on the site). By looking at an old notebook that I used to keep my mail order records in, I was able to pinpoint the day I received my set (number 57): November 22, 1976! I had a lot of spare time back in THOSE DAYS -- anyone on the list have an original set? Number? There's a set here in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I haven't seen it yet, but have been told by the owner that the number is under 100 (I just can't remember how low, and he's not in town to ask right now). We plan on getting our sets together one day to see how different the current set (5th Ed) is from the original. Anyone actually use the OS cards? Mine are quite handy for solving Photoshop dilemmas.
