I think you'd have done the same thing in trying to stick it out 'til the last minute. Actually I've had a flu virus and throat infection, so common sense told me that I wasn't fit to go to the shows by Wednesday and I wasn't the one who was going to be singing. From what I've heard the warning signs that there was a problem were there during Ferry's show in Liverpool on Monday. > Then again, I'm only going by what I'd have done, and what Bryan DID do. The man is to be more admired than criticised for his actions. Did anybody actually see Ferry in Dundee? I know he did a sound check in Middlesborough and then cancelled the show, I don't know if he travelled to Glasgow and I don't know if he did a sound check in Dundee. One would have thought that if he did do a sound check in Dundee he would have known then if he was up to doing the show or not. Tom. I've heard a strange tale from a couple of sources of Ferry and Julia Thornton doing some recordings to go with new Roxy live album during a couple of the recent soundchecks. If this is true I can only presume that they have been doing some last minute overdubs to some tracks, though it does seem strange that the need for these has only been identified so long after the Roxt tour and so close to the actual release of the album. He certainly was in Dundee as we managed to catch him going in to the Caird Hall for the soundcheck. He signed our tickets and I asked how his throat was, "Hmm, getting there, it's getting better" he replied. On the plus side it was great to meet up with John, Gerry & Bernadette,John & Annabel, Alan, Alistair, Iris & friends. Hopefully the next time it will be for some "post gig" chat instead of "no gig" chat!! There will never be another Roxy Music.....just like there will never be another Beatles. Hopefully, from time to time some band or singer may come along who will entertain and thrill us the way Roxy Music did...but it will be different, it won't be the same. Just be thankful that Roxy Music existed in your time...and that you were fortunate enough to find them when so many people did not.
