This would be a PERFECT vehicle for him. Does anyone have a pipeline to his management? I can't see it really, in his early career he tended to sound like Buddy Holly's english cousin, then he had a second wind thanks to some Chris Andrews penned songs when he sounde like John Lennons London cousin.! He did make a great album in the 70's "I Survived" which didn't get the recognition it deserved, perhaps do to the music press's idea that he was a 60's has been. Two early 60's films of his which are worth viewing are "Beat Girl" a serious film for its day with a John Barry soundtrack, &"What A Wopper" a piece of lightweight fluff with Spike Milligan. It was indeed brilliant! Well worth the 10 km bicycle ride to -in the rain- and back again -with less rain, but still wet... But we had the Siren vinyl LP with "Love, Jerry Hall" close to us, so we hardly noticed the drizzle! Jimbo was the lucky man in the raffle, I got the "Greatest Hits MouseMat"! (Oh, Jocelyn you're such a dear; I bet you can sell Bryans dirty underwear if you have to.) Remake/Remodel was spledid, a very nice setlist. I'm afraid I only remember the last part: Deep in the night plying very strange cargo Our soul ships pass by solo trips to the stars in the sky Gliding so far that the eye cannot follow Where do they go? We'll never know . . . Rumour has it that (perhaps) Remake will perform once again ... (Then there is that old Dutch saying that the Wish is the Father of the Thought...) 'I thought' then!? It was very nice to meet Carien, Joep, Leslie, Kees, Han, Linn, Raymond and Therese, Bill's wife and others; and all those people whom I knew from earlier Roxy follie. Thanks for all your joy! I guess some of you are still partying in the Winston Hotel bar. Got to go to bed now. Jimbo: hope you got back home well. Tara, Anton. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Mar 2003 05:01:10 +0100 From: Edwin van der Ende Subject: RE: [AVALON] Hello from Amsterdam & AMA 2 I do agree that it was a wonderful night in Amsterdam. I was glad to meet many people who I've never met before and so many that I've met a zillion times at the Re-make gigs. And guess what even I won something at the raffle...is there actually somebody who didn't win anything? Please send me your ticket numbers and I'll see what I can do for you. I had promised some 15 pictures of the Bryan Ferry concerts, but left them at home. So for those of you who bought tickets and ended up with nothing, please mail me off list and I'll try and send you one! As for the rumours around Re-make/Re-model.... somebody really got carried away with their imagination there... For all the official news regarding Re-make, just check the website. Ron has put up some information about himself including a bit about the time off he needs. It's in the news section at www.remakeremodel.com Hope to see you all again some day soon !
