In fact, they could do "Nothing But" CD's for every RM/BF song.....just like Duchamp did, y'know?....then they could release the box set of the "Nothing But" CD's. Just 3 songs from "Frantic", none from " As Time Goes By", none from "Mamouna", none from "Taxi". Loss of confidence in his later material? I think not. The truth is he's become a showman, a troubador. He's got a canon that's second to none and , yes, he has got something to say , but maybe only on record . Frantic is a strong album but he refuses to tour it. Why not? Take "Goodnight Irene" , I suspect that if he sang it live, half of the audience would switch off , and a significant part of Avalon would join them. "Going Down" ? Same thing applies. So why no "Hiroshima",? "San Simeon",? "Goddess of Love", his best single in 15 years.? " I Thought" now dropped. And there's all that other stuff that we don't mention. Still a great gig. Intimate venue. And "My Only Love" , "Jealus Guy", "Love is the Drug" and " Do the Strand" are all done justice with this troupe. Icing on the cake , "Wolly Bully", "A Hard Rain's a Gonna Fall", both added to the encore. Rock on, Bryan. Go on, enjoy yourself. Philip PS During a Chris Spedding solo ("My Only Love") a lady next to me told me that there were 2 members of the original Roxy Music on stage. I said the other was the drummer. " I think not", she said and ,when Bryan name checked Spedding at the end of the song , she added "told you so". I let it go. I'll miss AMA2 this coming weekend. I'm sure that all of you going will have a great time. Re-make Re-model will give you the Ferry set you want. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Mar 2003 19:31:18 EST From: KWil632057@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] Compilation Complications Can anybody direct me as to where I might get a compilation of Bryan Ferry/ Roxy Music songs?
