Back 2 yars ago I had all the magazines' editions, until a waterflood in the cellar destroyed part of it. Still I have some editions double, as I bought a complete box with all kinds of Roxy stuff from the Zeeland Pokorni sisters (enabling them to get to London Wembley). I met one of the sisters, Hedy Pokorni, back again in the mid the 80ies in Scheveningen Harbour at a Greenpeace Festival organised by VeronicaTV, where our Bry did a playback for the Bete Noire promotion. It was here where I did get him signed my selfmade copy of a pic that is currently used for the Frantic cover A flash of this magic moment with the 2 of us together, is now covering my laptop cover :-) Title:..."The grass was greener...When we were young:.. From the back of my mind I can tell you that Peter's private address was Potgieterlaan 38, Roosendaal I know for sure 'cause we held private contact through mail too When the mag stopped, Peter at that time told me he couldn't longer support a club, while he didn't much like the new Roxy a la Flesh&Blood Also he got very busy in private life. At the same time there was another 'official' club somewhere Nijmegen I only received one mag, which was professionally done on glossy paper Don't now much whatever happened to this club. greetz, 2HB At 10:01 20-02-2003 +0100, Robert Vinkenborg wrote: >Hoi Jimbo, > >Ik was destijds ook lid van de fanclub, ook in een heel vroeg stadium. I do remember getting a Bryan Ferry magazine and a couple of Roxy Music magazines (on glossy paper and professionally done) from somewhere in Holland a long time ago. Maybe this was the same club? From what I can recall, even the envelopes were professionally printed with "Bryan Ferry Magazine". I'll try to find them to see if the address is Nijmegen. There used to be a Roxy Fan Club (run by Peter Leay or someone like that) in the UK, but from what I gather it went bust. I know that EG Management reimbursed me for items I had ordered (but never received) from the UK club. Aleks Yahoo! I've got the Ferry Nice ones from 76 till the end. They used to sent them in large brown envelops. I remember my brother thought I ordered a pornmagazine, which it was in a sort of way. It was made with the best intentions but in those post-computer days it wasn't very easy to make something professional. The magazine always ended with a songlyric obvious written down by a Dutch who had problems with his ears and his english, I will try to find them this weekend to see if I can quote one or two of those lyrics, very funny. The guys from Nijmegen met each other during the ticketsales for flesh and blood. If you really wanted good tickets in those days you had to travel to the venue and sit there in the cold the whole night. The nice thing of it was that you chatted with the people around you, at that night they made a plan for a magazine, made a dummy, sent it to the management and it all ended that they met Manzanera and Ferry in a hotel in Amsterdam to talk about the details, they where invited to travel with Roxy for the European part of the Avalon tour. I'm almost sure one of the three is lurking.... " The Zeeland Pokorni sisters" sounds if I like to meet them ;-) Hope to meet you all at ama 2 and good to see Heather Buch is back in town. Am I the only one who is hoping that Jonathan is coming to Amsterdam to play all those amazing Fonzi Thornton records. Glad your soundcard is working properly, but for me the best way to get the full aural affect of a recording is with a good set of headphones. With headphones you often hear things that you never knew were there before. This is especially true of the early Roxy Music recordings.
