The duration is identical at 70 minutes. I guess that the EP refers to the two bonus 1980 tracks this collection includes - Over You and Oh Yeah. The material has also been released on tape and VCD several times in different guises as 'Beat Club', 'Musikladen', 'Vintage', 'Psalm' etc. The key difference is that this DVD is reported to be region 0, and therefore with unrestricted worldwide compatibility. Last year's Radio Bremen licensed version was region 2 (Europe) only (presumably the interactive menus will have an English option this time.) I ordered the new DVD from a Dutch vendor before Xmas - now I know why it hasn't arrived. On the subject of DVD's a pirate Japanese DVD-R version of Ferry's 1977 TV appearance on the 'Young Music Show' in Tokyo has surfaced. This is Ferry at the absolute peak of his singing powers, and an otherwise unavailable view of the IYM era material. The difference is that presumably this doesn't suffer from the 19th generation recording quality of the various tapes that have done the rounds over the years. Released on the Master Tone label, you can find details of the release here: http://dnd-rock.com/cgi-bin815/view_album.cgi?labelID=3&no=17 I must stress that this is a DVD-R and that Japan uses a version of the NTSC video format, therefore wider compatibility may be problematic. I'll let you know how I get on when my copy arrives. Back to sleeper mode... Where's Bryan?.......................Found this on the gossip sheet. Blizzard? What blizzard? Legions of Manolo Blahnik aficionados defied near-Arctic conditions Thursday night to make a stiletto-clad trek to the opening of his retrospective at the London Design Museum. Looking immaculate but claiming to be on the verge of hysteria, Blahnik greeted a crowd of British rock aristocracy, blue bloods, artists, models and assorted fashion fiends. Kate Moss made her first public appearance since the birth of her daughter, Lila, and appeared goddess-like in a black, crystal-festooned Lanvin dress. She joined Bianca Jagger, Lucy Ferry, Leah Wood, Annabel Neilson, Camilla Morton, Mario Testino, Michael Roberts and Celia Birtwell in the party throng. The exhibit itself, which parades the amazing body of work Blahnik has bestowed on womankind since he first made shoes for an Ossie Clark show in 1974, is set up amid towering walls of stacked shoe boxes. Most of the pieces are strewn casually about, like impossible jewels or exotic animals, though some are displayed with clothesplatforms with tendrilish flowered ties done for Ossie Clark, beaded tribal sandals for John Gallianos first Dior couture collection and, fresh from last week's shows, the boots that were paired with Azzedine Alaoas croc-backed coat. Tape loops feature some of the women who have shaped Blahniks idea of glamour, beginning with Monica Vitti in the 50s and ending, of course, with Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City. It's a journey of rich and sensuous delights that demonstrates just how a master achieved his well-deserved place of honor. But NOW, I have upgraded to 5:1 and a player that will reproduce SACDs, DVD Audio discs, heck I've not found its limitations yet! So could someone patient please update me, either offlist or to the whole list if they feel an update of general interest? What BF/Roxy/Eno albums/projects exist officially on disk formats OTHER THAN the usual CD and DVD versions to help me exploit my newfound techno wizardry? Also, and this probably IS more an offlist request, are there any similar releases of any Bowie material?
