I came across an actual DJ copy on vinyl in the mid 90`s which contained all the commercials and "cue sheet" at Old Hippie Records (he dealt exclusively in radio shows and DJ copies) but he was asking some outrageous price for it. Sadly, he just recently passed away and his web site is gone now. But on the bright side, this material was treed several years ago along with a few other gems from that '75 tour. I think it totaled about 13 tracks. If anyone is interested in this material perhaps another tree can be arranged. Perhaps it's only a reference to a naked posterior flashing across the horizon! No. A large full moon on a still, cloudless night, the offer of unknown mystery, a promise of something foreign or perhaps clandestine. Funny you should mention that Jonathan because there is continual reference to the mining industry of the North East in the titles of many Eno albums. "Warm jets" is an old Geordie phrase used to describe the hosing down process of miners emerging soot black from a long day down the pit. "Tiger Mountain" is old pit village slang for a slag heap of coal sludge (the sedimentary layers giving the appearance of tiger stripes), which is terribly dangerous to scale after a downpour, and can only be negotiated in a particular fashion in order to avoid a slip - hence Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy. Before and After Science I believe was inspired by the death of the mining industry due to advanced technological advancements in the industry that cut the mining workforce to its quick. The slag heaps were eventually grassed over turning memorials of industrial austerity into things of beauty. This programme co-incided roughly around the time of Another Green World. Oh, and I think everyone knows that Music for Airports was recorded to commemorate Newcastle Airport becoming the No I International take-off point for the North of England. I believe Eno abandoned his new opus Music for European Championship Winners earlier this year. C. Or, as I have long suspected, is his work a long and emotionally fragile ode to the Cambridge Corn Exchange? The Corn Exchange lies betwixt the co-ordinates of Lion Yard and King's Parade. Eno has recorded both The Lion Sleeps Tonight and King's Lead Hat. Surely more than coincidence? Another related link is of course that Mr F is playing both the Corn Exchange and The Northumbria Derby and Joan Sports Club on the next leg of the tour. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2003 13:45:20 -0500 From: Lyn Subject: [AVALON] lost cd Help list members--I have lost my In your mind cd.
