I'm glad I actually witnessed it live, but it just didn't have the impact I thought it would. I guess that this was partially due to the fact that it's not as well known as some of the other Roxy tracks (it probably mistified quite a few in the audience). Another reason is that the "Viva" version really is a hard act to follow. Aleks Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Stimulated by this news, the small 'light bulb' in my brain illuminated a darker recess where I'd conveniently stored the idea that one day I should actively seek out information about Mr. Spedding's professional life. (I seem to have always recognized Spedding's name. He had frequently been credited on albums that I, coincidentally, liked! And his contributions as a session player for numerous highly respected musicians further reinforced the positive image I was forming of Chris Spedding as an excellent guitarist.) Naturally, I searched for Mr. Spedding's 'official' website, www.chrisspedding.com There I have been reading. I'd like to share a quotation taken directly from the 'biography' pages, specifically from the page chronicling the years 1977-1978, a period of time that includes Spedding's recording and touring with Ferry's "In Your Mind" Tour. We hear so little about Bryan Ferry's recording techniques, and this small excerpt quoted from Mr. Spedding's comments may give us a small insight to BF's expertise of that period. Hope you enjoy: "I've been most impressed with Bryan Ferry's studio technique out of all my studio work. This is because of the results - the records still sound good to me now - and the way he used me to get those result. I think he's very smart as well as talented. Bryan and all his other musicians liked to spend a lot of time working things out in the studio and I always liked to work very spontaneously." I heavily weight the importance of this quote as Chris Spedding has worked with just about every studio, technician, producer, and artist that has comes out of England over the past 40 years. - He should know! Best wishes. I followed the instructions below and eradicated the virus easily. The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) isn't detected by Norton or Macafee anti-virus systems. This virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and the address book, whether or not you send e-mails to your contacts. Here's how to check for the virus and get rid of it: 1: Go to Start, Find or Search option 2: In the file/folders option, type the name: jdbgmgr.exe 3: Be sure you search your C-drive and all the sub folders and any other drives you may have 4: Click: "Find now" 5: The virus has a grey teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe - DO NOT OPEN IT! 6: Go to edit (0n the menu bar) and choose SELECT ALL to highlight the file without opening it. 7: Now go to the File (on the menu bar) and select DELETE. It will then go to the recycle bin. 8: Go to the Recycle Bin and delete it there as well. IF YOU FIND THIS VIRUS, you must contact all the people in your address book, so they can eradicate it in their own address books. To do this: 1: Open a new e-mail message 2: Click the icon of the address book next to "To" 3: Highlight every name and add to "BBC" 4: Copy this message, enter subject and paste to e-mail, and send. Maybe so, but at least they weren't banal and uninformed. Perhaps I'm just behind, but I sure didn't know that the footsteps on San S. were the identical ones used in LITD. Also, it was nice to learn about Martin Wheatley's lack of recent experience on the electric guitar; sure sounded great on FFL, very Mark Knopfler-ish. All in all, it really recharged my Ferry battery. That reminds me: who's still listening regularly to Frantic? I realized I haven't played the album itself, just a couple of the tour things, in a mighty long time :o( > she'd gone on and looked at all his set lists.
