If you're desperate for the recording or extremely impatient (and located in North America), I'm willing to make more copies. It will probably be offered by others. Still playing - Saint Etienne's Finisterre (It's knocked out Ash from my MD player and I was listening to them non-stop for weeks.) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 23:53:54 -0500 From: "Jas" Subject: [AVALON] Another Brit sings Standards I KNOW you folks want to hear this. Rod Stewart is on the Tonight Show singing These Foolish Things right now. Of course his version has NOTHING on Bryan's take on the same song. It's a tad bit "traditional". I love Bryan's campy take on that song much, much better. Rod has album of "standards'' out now. Rod also has female string quartet backing him up. I wonder where he got that idea from ??? I have always like Rod but I don't think that this collection will be on my CD shelf. In other news Brian Johnson sent me a copy of the Munich show. THANKS! I was impressed. The band sounded hot (especially TGPT) and Bryan sounded in top form. "Limbo" was a highlight. Hmmm.. I feel bad that I had to miss that show since I was in Munich 2 weeks BEFORE the concert. Sigh....However, I do have a poster announcing the show ( Virgin Records celebration) that I picked up off the street (it's true folks) while I was on the way to the train station in Barmbek. Peter Gabriel was on that show as well. I also have a photo of a poster announcing the Paris show that I took near the Gare du Nord. I had left Paris before THAT concert too. Had I known....... I've also not heard about the Dylan demo's, looks like theres quite a bit in the can. With the sucess of Frantic, why not release some of this material..
