Always nice to meet and say hallo to other Avalonians. Never mind the reviews. I'm sure almost everybody had a good time. Tuesday night I let my eyes do a little wandering around the Hall. And at the end almost everybody was up and dancing and cheering. Great party! On my way out all I could hear was "Great show", "Fantastic" and "Wow". The papers should send a person who actually likes the music. In Denmark we have a reviewer who only like hardcore heavy death metal. Sometimes he is send out for a review of more mainstream music. And of course he is very negative and personel about other kind of music. But nobody takes him serious anymore. Just read and laugh. So I guess its all about the mood that one leaves the venue in. And I felt great! And thanks to Caroline for my monday ticket and Jane Fraser for the tuesday tickets. My friend who never has seen Ferry live, was very pleased! And impressed with Ferrys stageperformance and the bands postive vibes. Very well put Philip... I couldn't agree more. I rather prefer an artist to remain a bit aloof and enigmatic... adds a bit of respect for the art and craftmanship. The reticence only adds to Bryan's air of sophistication... perhaps that's a bit pretentious, but if I wanted *warm and fuzzy* (i.e., pandering and cheap) out of a concert I'd go see Garth Brooks (*ugh*). Don >Its often been commented that Ferry has a streak of shyness in him. If >verbosity doesn't come matural to him its better to say as little as >possible ......"nice to back in Pensecola", " Jerry Springer on guitar... >hey. ...Jerry " etc etc. will do me fine. I think that too much of the >wrong type of chat can ruin a concert. Ferry more than expresses himself >and strikes a rapport with his audience in his music. > >Philip ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 12:04:27 +0200 From: Daniel Atterbom Subject: Re: [AVALON] Stockholm 1976 on TV I have corresponded with someone of the list that will recieve that VHS tape and then take care of the matter. This debilitating disease limits his range of motion as is most noticeable in dance moves that are usually done with his frame awkwardly crumpled. On his better days he is able to wave at audiences without pain. Rumors indicate the arthritis has caused temporal mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD) in Mr. Ferry curtailing his ability to speak and sing in comfort. When asked if this condition is responsible for the uptempo of selected songs and his seeming reluctance to speak, Mr. Ferry quickly scrolled upon a slip of paper handing it to reporters before leaving. The note simply read, "No comment." A man of few words, armed with plenty of shirts and a diverse back catalogue, could really go places. - There's a world out there. And that's what I like about him. So good to hear that Sarah Brown is an asset to the show. Thanks, everyone, for your reviews! More, please! Reecey, O'Brien - I've three words for yeh, 'Get well soon!' Best Wishes. KBP PS - Mr. Ferry may be 'shy', but I believe his tendency toward quietness is due more to an inability to empathize (relate) with others and not due to his shyness. That 'quality' is what renders the lyrics of "Cruel" so farcical. - Unless, of course, Dave Stewart wrote that song. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 18:21:34 +0200 From: Daniel Atterbom Subject: Re: [AVALON] Stockholm 1976 on TV I am sorry that I can not help all of you, but some other people will indeed offer the 46 min Stockholm 1976 concert to the Avalon list.
