Don't sweat it, Mark. I was teasing the whole list - of course we can discuss music here! I just had this visual in mind of you, Atlas, holding up the world, against all odds... [I'd rather discuss music than use the site as a "Flirt Board"] AMEN!!! The 'double standard' that exists on Avalon List isn't really any different than that which exists outside the list. Simply put, in the context of Alist, there exists a very vocal minority who are totally intolerant to any viewpoint that may be perceived as a detraction toward Mr. Ferry - if someone says something not positive about BF/RM et al this minority viciously attacks the 'detractor'. The double standard is 'If you make a negative judgment about my idol, then I am at liberty to judge you in the most disgusting terms that I can possibly conceive'. And frequently, that conception is highly flawed. Best wishes. Hi everybody, As some of you noticed -I was also at the concert in Paris :-) And I just have to send special "thank you" to Caroline for the great seats - it was fantastic! After a wonderful monday night with Mr. Ferry and a few beers with the rest of the Avalongang, I headed home to see if Stefanzanera had been out for some more cultural activities. And boy, what met my Ferryfilled eyes at the front of the hotelroom at one o'clock in the night ..? A vision that will never leave my mind. Stefanzanera didn't quite manage to get to the door. He only missed by a foot or two. But it gave me an oppotunity to shoot a couple of good pictures of him!. A ticket had fallen out of his jacket, and it was revealed what "cultural" highpoint he had visited. And as guessed by almost all Avalonians in Paris: he had seeked and found "The Moulin Rouge". ...!!! The morning after he admitted, that his evening had included several dancing naked (?) horses and a lot of jumping women. After showing him the two pictures, he confessed. With a smile! I've just mailed him the pictures today, there are now on his website www.18.huller.dk - you can also use the link http://www.18huller.dk/paris2002/caught.htm Holle, Denmark :-) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 12:20:44 -0500 From: Karen Swenson Subject: Re: [AVALON] Dutch radio broadcast I'm not sure if anyone has clarified this, but I just heard the presenter say Bryan's name, so I'm assuming it's to be broadcast today. http://portal.omroep.nl/radio/mplayer Karen On Sunday, September 22, 2002, at 11:26 AM, Go2Sweeney@aol.com wrote: > That radio station that I announced earlier seems to be playing live > concerts > on Friday nights from 10 pm to 11 pm Dutch time, but when I went on the > presenter's site, it said that they would have Terence Trent D'Arby. > Now I > don't understand enough Dutch to know if Terence was on last week, so I > emailed the presenter to ask him. I was stood right next to the stupid idiot sitting with her leg out. She sat there through the whole end of the concert like that. Couldn't get passed. I have the consolation of knowing she must have been very very uncomfortable sat like that and that at the end of the concert a friend of mine barged right through her leg - MUST have hurt! The girl didn't even clap. Why the hell did she have a front row seat if she wasn't going to enjoy the concert. I would have swapped her for my 4th row ticket. All I can say is - what a miserable bloody audience. If it wasn't for the Avalonians there would have been no life there at all. God knows how Bryan felt about it. I noticed he did keep going over to the sides - where there was a bit of life. I had a good view even if I was stopped from getting passed I was still right up at the stage. Just wish they had let me take my camera in. I have photos from every other BF concert I've been to. Big thanks for the photos posted online at www.18huller.dk. However, apart from that I did enjoy Bryan's performance. I loved his smooth ending to 'Slave to Love' and 'I thought' was brilliant live. They were my highlights.
