Most people however, have been able to correct this fault, me included, and it should not be long before the corrected DAO (disc-at-once) version is offered back to the group. That having been said, I will take the opportunity to start the ball rolling. The usual weed protocol is in effect. Well, I just got home from the tour of the two most active Danish Avalonians. "Stunning Holle" and "Thomsen the Suit", once again chose a sparkling and sunny day to arrive to Paris. Saturday morning we were welcomed by very nice weather. Shirt and short weather! After dropping our suitcases at the Hotel Belta http://www.cosy-hotels.com/hotels/hotel-260.htm, near Garde L'est, saturday and sunday were used for sightseeing and shopping. Paris has now been visited by the two of us not less than 14 times. Holle 13 times and this was my first trip.....The Rookie... Caroline had secured front row tickets for almost all 8-10 places in the middle. So I think I speak for all ...thank you Caroline!!!! After collecting all the money, you most have been the most cashholding person in Paris Sunday! By the way: A friend of mine has worked in a restaurant in Paris 7-8 years ago and told me to go and take a few pictures of the place. Belive it or not...it was the same place that Caroline had chosen for our meeting point!! Out of 14.000 restaurants!!! I had a ticket for sunday and Holle had a ticket for monday, so the arguing of which show was the better, will go on for some time, until other reviews appear here. But I was very pleased with the sunday show. And the band and Ferry enjoyed themselves very much..and they also regonised some of the Avalonians, that's for sure. I'm sure some of the other guys from this group will give a deeper review. Saturday night I had caught a cold, so I lost most of my voice from midnight and I still am having trouble, as I write this. I took a lot of pictures (Caroline and I must now appear as "The Digital Duo") and they will appear on www.18.huller.dk from thursday evening. Monday cameras were confiscated, so perhaps the blitzing was too much on sunday. Holle went on monday, and I was later told that she was very very pleased with everything..seats and the music...and the after-beering in the nearby cafe'. Bryan had been very smiling despite of a few hickups during the music. I had chosen other cultural activities this monday evening. I'm pretty sure its nature was revealed to the other Avalonians. On tuesday evening our bus left Paris and we arrived at our homes in Denmark around mid afternoon. Very tired. Paris can be a very intense experience. I have never seen so many people in one place. If you are going, remember to practice your walking skills. And buy some very good walking shoes! And take a rest now and then in one of the many parks. But a great stay in Paris and a chance to say hallo to some of the very active Avalonians. Hopefully I will not be ill the next time we get together. We'll see in London................ You just have to do a little work to get rid of the gaps. Rip as wav files and use your wave editor (your burning program probably has one) to get rid of the silences - the flat lines. It really only takes seconds for each song. Just magnify the visuals to get the whole thing. Easy. I got mine done in about 10 minutes. No silence is golden. But the thing I did notice was... in the interval that followed the wonderful - if Helium-(speaking)voiced - Rosie Thomas, the music that filtered into the auditorium was the theme from The Persuaders. Odd choice, I mused, but no matter. Then slowly dawned that all of the music was a collection of greats by the composer John Barry, including the 007 theme music. Surely this couldn't be Bryan Ferry demonstrating an awareness of the goings-on of this list and making subtle reference to the Bond thread, could it? Was the remake-remodelling of the set list also an Avalonian influence and not just someone nudging BF to get with it? Maybe all of the above is true. But weirdly I was in a brasserie the next day (well, not so weird, that became a habit while staying in Paris) but what *was* weird was that the music playing was the same collection of John Barry music, kicking off with the Persuaders theme. And then slowly I noticed the back of a man dining who was the spitting image of our Bryan. Started to have all sorts of imaginary dialogues in which Bryan is having this music escort him round Paris as he makes his mind up whether to audition for the role being vacated by Pierce Brosnan or possibly the slightly amended role of Brett Sinclair, who did indeed go to Eton and Oxbridge but had a father who tended pit ponies in Co Durham. All of these crashing around me as I left the brasserie and discovered the man was a doppelganger and not the great man himself at all. Should have known. The glamorous woman opposite him was about 25 years too old... Paris must just be having a John Barry revival, a tribute month or something. Write-up on Bryan Ferry's music (if Reecey doesn't beat me to it) to follow...
