The only problem, however, is that the recording is TAO. No disrespect, to Stefan, who unselfishly sent me this recording, but I was wondering whether other copies were recorded in this way also, or whether anyone got a DAO copy with which to organise weeds, vines, or what have you. But - good villain, for sure. Arnie - Dalton was actually a stop-gap when the producers of Remington Steele wouldn't let Brosnan out of his contract (even thought the series had been cancelled at that point), but on the strength of the Bond connection, actually retained the poor bugger for a final, rather sad season. As it happens, poor Timothy got stuck with some of the worst Bond plots known to mankind. He wasn't a bad Bond - just had bad material. Looking back - Brosnan was too young to play Bond in the 80s. The problem is - who will play Bond once Brosnan is done with the role? I've heard rumours of Russell Crowe. (Say it ain't so!!!) Gabriel Byrne would be great - but will be too old by the time Brosnan's finished with Bond. Bryan Ferry is already too old. And just isn't "tough" enough onscreen. Best bet (and I'm open to suggestion) is Eric MacCormick of "Will and Grace" fame, but in about 5 to 10 years. In the meantime - new movie out on November 22nd, I believe. AND - a Bond exhibit is running at the Science Museum in London from October 16th until the spring of 2003. One of my first museum visits this fall! Can't wait. In addition to TV series soundtracks, and some short film soundtracks, he has done the music for many commercials, for companies like Amtrak. In fact, I believe he was responsible for the "There's something about a train that's magic" jingle sung by Richie Havens. There is a kind of Oscar award for commercials, called the CLIO awards, and their website (www.clioawards.com) allows you to search for past winners. I did a search for Jobson and found that he has been associated with the following CLIO awards: Year: 1988 Award: Clio Winner Entry Type: U. S. Television/Cinema Category: Original Music Scoring Advertiser/Product/Service: Amtrak Title: California Zephyr :60 Composer(s): Eddie Jobson Music Company: Zinc Inc., New York Performer/Voice: Coleen Dewhurst Music Director: Eddie Jobson Year: 1995 Award: Certificate Entry Type: TV & Cinema Category: Music-Original Advertiser/Product/Service: DuPont Lycra Title: Thread :30 Music Company: Jobson Music, New York Performer/Voice: Bill Eaton Music: Peter Greco I think he may have won other CLIO awards, but couldn't find them. He has certainly been nominated for the award many times. As for the 1995 award, I am guessing that Peter Greco may have been a composer who worked for Jobson. Either that, or it's some sort of mistake! The Bond movies urgently require the kind of humour that our Rog brought to the role, especially what with the sixties being a distant memory.
