Hence Ferry dumped from project to be taken over by a very convincing John Lithgow. Ferry as you probably know, was a very accomplished rock climber (and would be cyclist) in his youth. >I was always sorry the Bowie never got to play Egon Schiele. I remember reading something about Bowie taking on the film because it was a complete reaction against his previous film. It was to be a partial biography of Schieler as a sort of intimate study of his relationship with his model. Ferry, who was in good voice again, gave a particularly poignant rendition of SGIYE. The 'Frantic' tracks came across well live (though BF still has to stick to a lyric sheet for 'I Thought'), especially 'Cruel' was very powerful. The guitar performances by CS and MG were excellent throughout. From 'Jealous Guy' onwards, the audience rushed to the front, and BF was visibly excited by this surge of enthusiasm. One of the standouts, however, was 'Boys & Girls', a thrilling version again, with a very long ending - PT glanced at BF at the piano, obviously waiting for a sign as to when to end, but Ferry was happily continuing this great track on piano, and Lucy W. contributed very spheric synth washes. An even better gig than Hamburg, I'd say. William Hughes-Ward, 25, was left heartbroken when pretty backing singer Katie Turner, 21, suddenly called off their two-year relationship. This week he was devastated to discover that his former sweetheart had been secretly dating the 56-year-old Roxy Music legend. Their affair only became public last week when the couple were pictured together shopping for sexy underwear in Munich, but they were pictured together eating lunch on a London park bench as early as April. Yesterday, William's friends told how e now suspects Katie had been dating Ferry when she dumped him eight months ago. Ferry has mansions in London and New York while William lives in a rented flat above a pub in Fulham, West London, with a friend. He and Katie dated for two years and had been friends for longer. They were introduced by William's brother, Jamie, who trained with Katie at the Laine Theatre Arts College in Epsom, Surry, where Victoria Beckham was a pupil. William, a former recruitment consultant in the City, has worked for the past six months selling houses in upmarket Pimlico in London. Unlike Ferry, who can affort to provide a private jet to whisk Katie around Europe on their shopping expeditions, William - who earns pounds 25,000 a year - rides around on scooter. William's step-father, second-hand car dealer John Ward, said how saddened he had been to watch the relationship with Katie disintegrate. 'They finished at the end of last year, and by then Katie had been working with Ferry for God knows how long on his tour,' said Mr. Ward. 'I met Katie lots of times and she was a very nice, very attractive girl. But who knows if she was seeing him behind William's back. Only Katie could tell you that - and she won't.' 'They get up to all sorts, particularly in the business that she's in.' Mr. Ward revealed how Katie had cleared out all of the photographs she and William had taken of each other during their relationship. He added that in recent months his son had been trying to re-build his battered ego. But William had no idea why he had been dumped until he learned his former love had replaced him with one of pop's richest men. Mr. Ward said: 'William had no idea about Katie's relationship with Ferry until it came to light. Now the pieces of the jigsaw are all coming together as to why it went sour in the first place.' He added that it was clear someting in Katie's life as a globe-trotting dancer and singer had made her dissatisfied with William. 'Can you imagine how one minute everything is rocking along beautifully and then out of the blue, arrives some man and their relationship has gone down the Swannee?' Yesterday, while his ex carried on performing in the tour in a sequinned basque and fishnet tights, William said: 'Katie and I are still in touch and good friends. The last thing I would do is be seen to be doing the dirty or spilling the beans on her,' he said." _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Sep 2002 00:02:22 +0100 From: "terrypaulrigz8c" Subject: Fw: [AVALON] Warhorse Replacements - ----- Original Message ----- From: terrypaulrigz8c To: Arnold Schulberg Sent: Friday, September 20, 2002 12:00 AM Subject: Re: [AVALON] Warhorse Replacements > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Arnold Schulberg > To: Avalon > Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2002 9:46 PM > Subject: [AVALON] Warhorse Replacements > > > > Jealous Guy/Love Is The Drug/DoThe Strand/Let's Stick Together > > > > Okay, okay.
