Actually, it was exactly 100 people, all of whom either won tickets or knew somebody. Despite there being acres of room in the studio where the concert took place, the BBC clung to health and safety reasons for not allowing the 20 or so people outside in to the gig. With the others, I spent 5 hrs outside in total outside the Delaware Rd studio in Maida Vale, London today in the hope of getting in to see the free concert being recorded for Oct 5 broadcast. Didn't quite manage it (got as far as the studio door and listened to one song - "Alabama Song" - before getting ejected) but did get an autograph from the man himself as he was leaving. Never mind, I'm off to Paris next week for Bryan Ferry concert on Monday and Bowie on Tuesday. Does anyone (Caroline?) have any details of an organised meet on the Monday either side of the BF gig? Best wishes Richard Mills n/p Chris Coco (featuring Nick Cave) - Sunday Morning (yes, the VU song) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Sep 2002 09:06:32 +0100 From: "richard-mandy" Subject: [AVALON] Re-Make Re-Model Edwin suggested: >go there directly (http://www.geocities.com/corbroersen/try.html). Don't forget to download and install Real Player (http://www.real.com) first so you can listen to the songs. So I did. Thought I may as well go the whole hog and listen to Dreamhome - being a favourite of mine if it wasn't going to work it wouldn't work for this one. BUT IT DID. Fabulous. I know when I really like something because I get tingles down my neck and my arms. During the opening bars it happened. I thought "No. It's just because it's Dreamhome", but the tingles contined and are still there, a couple of hours later. All you people are right and now I can't wait to see them. Maybe if we don't get any more Roxy the future isn't too bad. Are ReMake ReModel coming to the UK? When? Please?
