See the link for a nice photo of Ferry and the story in German! Paula http://www.ngz-online.de/news/kultur/2002-0910/bryan_ferry.html BRYAN FERRY: His image is only a misunderstanding Munich. He appears to be calm, cool and smart. But the interview shows that Britainbs class musician Bryan Ferry has an astonishing side: bit is impossible for me to relaxb When people think of me, they usually think that Ibm a calm, relaxed person. This has to be some ort of appearance that I exudeb he says in a dpa talk in Munich. He says that the title of his new album bFranticb would be closer to his personality. This album, as well as classics from his career spanning 30 years is the main focus of his German tour starting this Friday (September 13) in Hamburg. This means Ferry tours a year after the successful revival tour of oxy Music. bI like the contrast between different forms of music and stylesb, the singer says about his variable repertoire. bI like the songs of the thirties, but I like my own songs probably best b because they are bmebb. When he appears nowadays, it is usually slick as he does not need the glamourous and eye-catching costumes of the early days of Roxy Music any more. bI know have girls on stage who are responsible for this. I only wear a suit on stage and sing. I donbt do anything out of the ordinary anymoreb, says the family man who lives near London with his four children and wife. Musically, Ferry sees himself in the area of Jazz and Blues b the type of music hebs been listening to since he was 10. bI only follow a tradition which has been set by black artists. The people who foster this tradition nowadays are hip-hop artistsb. With this, the fan of love songs admits: bI quite like Dr. Dreb. Dates of the tour: Hamburg (13.9.), Bonn (14.), Bielefeld (15.), Berlin (17.) I've shook hands with BF3 times now. Once outside Madison Square Garden, last year. Friendly, Lucy & the youngest in tow. Outside the Beacon Theater, Time Goes By tour. He was grumpy, didn't want to sign anything, just get in the limo. And once at Tower Records for a Mamouna record signing. I was on crutches having been hit by a taxi a few weeks before. Went in and asked at the help desk how long he'd be signing, because the line was long & I was in a cast. The Help desk Clerk took me to the head of the line!!! May I shake your hand Mr. Ferry? We did, told him I liked Always Unknowing & wanted to hear more atmospherics, & the album "Lets Stick Together. "Oh we do that in our present show"...meaning the song I know a guy who got his arm autographed the same day, & had it tattooed in permanently. Told that story to the folks at Bleeker Street records, they know someone who got all 4 of KISS to sign them & tattooed that in. Fans! First the pre-party in Rotterdam on Sunday where we got to see a great show by Re-make/Re-model with in the audience a considerable amount of fans from the UK including Johnny Reece who must have an over exposed eye from video taping the concert. During the show we saw a great response from the audience. To all of those present at the concert, please leave your name and e-mail at my address so I can keep you posted on the great action pics I've taken of the audience as well as the band. Also during the show we officially opened the new Re-make/Re-model website at : www.remakeremodel.com . Feel free to come take a look at the official website full of information (english only) and picture (universal language). And then on Monday .... the master himself... no zoom cameras allowed, so I had to switch to plan B and persuaded a guy in BF management to allow me in as free lance photographer. I guess if he's reading this, thanks again mate ! It allowed me to make pictures during the first 4 songs of the concert. I hate to say but I also signed a contract not to release any pictures until they are approved by the management or otherwise in 7 days. Please feel free to check out the Re-make/Re-model website for further details on putting the pictures on the web. I will not be selling pictures because I much appreciate Mr Ferry portrait right but I will get in touch with management some time to see if you can print them yourselves.
