Hi Marlana, Firstly ,I would like to apologise if you have taken the attack personally, for it was not meant as such.I avoid many (Dump) posts on Avalon ,as I have over the years found more and to be frivolous drivel .I read yours as I usually enjoy your input. However on this ocassion I didn't.It just so happened that I decided to add my feelings about the comments you had made. The choice of the single word 'Preference' was wrong by me, I should probably have used mutual preference (Older Men/Younger Women) to which I believe you were inferring ? I for one don't give a hoot about being politically correct, I think relationships with much younger women is marvelous-time well spent.(And quite probably far more gratifying and less expensive than hours spent horizontal on a cold leather Harley St couch? ) I'm sure the only place Bryan wants to see more wrinkles is in his crocodile loafers. Speaking purely from personal experience,I would recommend a younger woman to any single man. Hey if it's good enough for Jagger.......Now if only Bryan had a penchant for young Brazilian sirens, DM ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Sep 2002 17:01:00 EDT From: KRNCHSE@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] Sorry! ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Sep 2002 16:10:48 -0500 (CDT) From: MarlanaK@webtv.net (M.M.K.) Absolutely wonderful, and infinitely interesting - only the listener is the determinate factor. >> I have obviously had over a week to digest my personal interpretation of the song and revel in KBP's absolute brilliance in presenting her own, and only wanted to add a few of my own notions. First, I was a young adult in California in the early to mid-80's when cocaine use was HUGE, both socially and as an epidemic. The line that strikes me as so true was: "Thus even Zarathustra another time loser could believe in you" Zarathustra, if memory serves me right, couldn't tell a lie, which brings to mind the ridiculous parties of the 80's where people were so high and all they could do was talk, talk, talk. Second, whenever I think of that period of time, I think of the quintessential Nagel woman, such as the one on the cover of Duran Duran's "Rio" album. The artist had admitted that his "women" ate little, saw the sun less, and smoked and partied in excess. Such were the creatures that frequented the parties that the lyrics bring to mind. Lastly, besides the similarities I see with KBP's post, I see the person melancholy with a creeping sense of time passing, seeing it wasted on excesses, and questioning what do they have to show for it. The first time I heard the song I thought it somewhat harsh lyrically for this reason. Other than Out of the Blue, Mother of Pearl is my favorite RM song. back to lurking, Helene ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html US ticket sale info: http://www.thewebgal.com/roxymusic/ (updated weekly) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 04 Sep 2002 07:03:43 +0000 From: "Martin Stockman" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Stockhom set List The Thrill The Thrill The Thrill Of It All - ---------- From: OBrienFerry@aol.com To: avalon@smoe.org Subject: [AVALON] Stockhom set List Date: Tue, Sep 3, 2002, 10:25 am It looks like many prayers have been answered for some new songs for this half of the Frantic tour:- Set list from vivaroxymusic.com 1.
