My least favourite Ferry composition might be 'Ain't That So', quite boring, though even that has a few not-so-bad moments. There are similar gems around, such as 'Cry Cry Cry'. At that time, maybe BF was trying too hard to write 'commercial' compositions, and some of it turned out bland. It was very realistic in parts. You could tell who most of the characters were supposed to be. For one thing, as I said, they had the artists wrote music for it where possible. So Gore wrote a song for the part with a fictionalized character who seemed like Leslie Gore but I have no idea if any of it was based on fact. An acclaimed film like House of Mirth really sucked, Golden Bowl not being that great either. Both Mariah Carey and J Lo get too much criticism for their acting because they are also singers, but I liked Selena as well as J Lo's cop movie, the name in English escapes me.
