"Roxy Music founder and avant garde music composer Brian Eno apparently wants to become a newsman and has pitched his proposal to the C4 news office. So stirred up is he by the creeping plans for a war against Iraq that he wants to get his message across on TV, together with some of his more glamorous and passionate friends. Look out too for an Eno-inspired anti-war campaign." ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Aug 2002 09:06:11 -0400 From: KB Porter Subject: Re: [AVALON] new member "You know you're right. From now on I will call him ....Shirley." Surely, you jest! Well. I thought it was 'punny' - for a short while, anyway! But could we just call him 'That Guy' - names are too hard to remember, and it wouldn't matter if that guy is in upper or lower case since we all know who That Guy is (not to be confused with the Other Guy who is otherwise known as Guy Lawley.) "NP Sign of the Times- The Dylan Mixes" Is this different from 'The Dylan Remixed Mixes'? ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Aug 2002 14:58:23 +0100 From: philipcadams@lineone.net Subject: [AVALON] He'll Have to Go - RIP Joe Allison I noted Allison's obituary in the press the other day. The obit claimed that Jim Reeves' version of this song was the best. I think Reeves has a context advantage over Ferry on this one. Ferry's version isn't bad but he's not a Country singer. I'm just idly wandering what else Ferry has covered that's still lying around in the archives. Tickets.com updates on Wednesdays, so they might have something tomorrow. I've had conflicting info on Ticketmasters. One guy said they update overnight Thursday. Another said they update daily. Nothing new today with either of those two though. Paula >Hi. Does anyone have any further info on US tour? Ticket info? besides Philly area. Please keep me posted. Thanks!
