Is this just in Canada, or is HMV boycotting all Warner product worldwide? Seems our record companies have been charging too much money to the retailer, and HMV has finally had enough. EMI and Sony gave in to HMV, but Warner and Universal are holding out. Of course, the only ones losing out here are the artists, who can't get their product into listeners hands; and the fans, who know the product is sitting in warehouses. And all the while - the fat cats in the corner offices moan because they won't be able to buy a second Lexus SUV this year. According to my local DJs - the price for a current Warner release is around $40 CDN. It used to be less than half that. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Avalonians on tour 2002: http://helios.unive.it/~tcecilia/meetup.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Jul 2002 00:14:19 +0100 From: "Chris Turner" Subject: [AVALON] Ferry 'Cross The Mersey Hello all, I unexpectedly find myself with a pair of spare tickets for Sunday night's 'Summer Pops' gig in Liverpool. They are in the centre of Row 7, as far forward as us mere mortals were allowed to get, the first six rows having been reserved for, ahem, "VIPs". If you're interested, please drop me a line, off-list, pronto. They are available at face value and on a first-come, first-served basis. No time-wasters or tyre-kickers please. I've seen him & know this is his way. Just standing there so cool. His eyes closed but then when he got going good he opened them & that was when he felt the song & let it move over him like a smooth wind on a summer night. He looks great but that new parting of hair is taking time getting use to. Let the tour begin here & soon!!!!!! Marlana........................................................ This version always contains an extra bonus track: Goddess Of Love taken from the Parkinson show 2002. I appreciate that Simon's version has been distributed far and wide, but if anyone is interested in a copy of this particular recording, drop me an e-mail. OFF LIST, naturally. Geraldo was Geraldo but that other guest wasted valuable Ferry time - notice the tempo of the song was sped up to fit into the last few minutes of the show. Great performance, as usual.
