Funny, I find it reminiscent of Bowie/Eno/LOW Crashing-In-The-Same-Car/New-Career-In-a-New-Town." I concur, "I Thought", a very soothing and sentimental 'wishing it wasn't ending, quite yet' song, is the perfect choice from the album's lot for the ending song. Is anyone reminded of Jimmy Buffet's musical style when listening to "I Thought"? I think this piece would appeal to a large population in The States - if Joe Public ever got to hear it. I think some Seniors are laughing in the background, I suppose they've already done the margarita and splif circuit. :) Hey! Where'd my shaker of salt go to! Wasted away .... Oh! That should be good! My inquisitive nature makes me wonder about many incongruities concerning Mr. Ferry, his 'music in the can', his current release, and his recent concerts. Given my eternal optimism toward BF's 'greatness' I have concluded the only scenario that would make sense of it all would be thus: An other album comprised mostly of BF self penned material will be introduced to the adoring public mid autumn, during the scheduled upcoming tour. This material will bare all the hallmarks which have distinguished BF's solo work since "Boys And Girls"! I fear Thom may be on to something; the money motive. Granted, we all need legal tender to survive now-a-days, and Bryan Ferry surely deserves his due. But it is becoming a bit of a joke - the predictable annual release of 'the best of' or 'boxed set' that includes 'unreleased material' dangled in front of the group that has faithfully supported him with only a hope that there is more to come. Dribble, dribble, dribble. Drip drop. I think time will not be too generous with respect to any accolades conceded to "Frantic". If this is the best we are going to get, now and in the future... Go on. Take the money and run. Best wishes.
