I thought about shortening this spoof to be an update but then decided that I liked it as a complete story. Off to write a spoof about myself (for another list)! M Younger Ferry: Speel Chucker Fiasco By M England - Isaac Ferry, son of singer Bryan Ferry, was suspended from Eton for sending a bullying e-mail to Simon Wild, who runs a wildlife rescue center, the Wildlife Protection Group. Following is Isaac's e-mail: "You are a f***ing looser. Why don't you stop waisting your time and get a real job/hobby, you c***?" Mr. Wild admitted that he had a good laugh before he complained to the police and school. "I didn't know what to make of it at first. The Ferrys have greater problems on their hands," he chuckled, observing the errors in Isaac's message. "I was appalled by the spelling mistakes," said Daddy Ferry, who supports his son's endeavors in blasting small furry critters. "He and his brothers have owned a dictionary since they were little boys. Otis was a spelling bee champion so you'd think that would have rubbed off onto Isaac." (Photo: http://www.m-w.com/book/diction/delxc10.htm Caption: Not on Isaac's reading list) "It's the 21st century," noted older brother Otis. "I don't know why he didn't use spell check." "The educational system is obviously deficient," declared Mrs. Ferry. Eton officials claimed that it's not their fault. "We have rigorous testing standards to ensure that our pupils can read and write. Isaac must have slipped through the cracks." They stated off the record that Isaac was admitted into Eton because the headmaster liked a few of Mr. Ferry's songs. A close family friend who did not wish to be identified said the following: "The boy is lacking in the intelligence and common sense department. I always figured that Isaac would be a disappointment. My bets are on Tara." Isaac is under curfew for the next few weeks. The Ferry family has enlisted the services of spelling extraordinaire, Mark Shanahan, to give private lessons to their spelling-deficient son. "Not to worry," reassured Mr. Shanahan. "I'll have Isaac spelling properly in no time. I have fool-proof techniques, which involve punishing the student for any mistakes by making him or her listen to Celine Dion or Mariah Carey for a week. In fact, I helped Dan Quayle with his spelling skills after his fiasco. Did you know that a lot of people spell Ms. Streisand's first name wrong? It's Barbra, not Barbara." Pop quiz Isaac. Then I read O'Briens and Reeceys observations from the weekend. And they are absolutely worldclass, though the parts on alcoholic drinks and the beautiful Danish girls, perhaps was a little too much in focus! But when they grow old and bald, perhaps they will have their eyes on more important things! Are the Roxy/Ferry tours basicly just an excuse for these guys to have a chance for a few goodnightdrinks? I just can't wait for the next reviews from "The Dynamic Duo"!. Perhaps I can try to match them, when I have frontseat tickets at the Copenhagen show in September (sadly the same evening as Jean Michel Jarre plays a huge concert in my hometown area. A 2.5 mill. # project for one evening. But Jarre was never an option). Well, perhaps I will have some trouble focusing on the music, as I once again will be joined by the stunningly beautiful danish girl Gitte! By the way, I think the dropped microphone wire was just an excuse from Mr. Ferry to get a closer look at Gitte in the frontrow at the Odense gig! And The Great Paul Thompson also spotted her with the result that he lost over half the drumset. Gitte was later that evening arrested by the Danish police for being "a danger to the public by simply being nice". Saturday I was joined (perhaps the correct word would be "jointed" by golfbuddy Claus from my hometown. He had never seen "Uncle Ferry" live, so he was totally jawdropped after the show. As he said, "That was the best Ferry show he had ever seen". But nice to introduce a friend to the Ferry/Roxy world. As a gesture of friendship, he immeadeatly invited me to the Bowie concert in Denmark in July! The Jellingshow was by miles the better of the two shows. The stage was more spacious and there was no Gitte to distract the band, so the music really turned on the crowd. I bet he got some new fans this evening. And the local recordshops better start building up stocks of Ferry/Roxy things! Reecey, if you could move your shop to the Jelling/Vejle area, you should be able to retire early and devote your time to going to these concerts. Perhaps a local shop here? "Listen, too" could be the name of the shop. Nothing more to add from Denmark at this point. I will try to get some newspaper reviews as they turn up. But what a great way to start my "Summer of music". Next friday Elton John in Copenhagen, Bowie in Horsens, Simple Minds near my hometown of Aalborg and Ferry again in Copenhagen and Paris. Anyway, my best guess is that those pictures are at least 15 years old. One list member theorized (probably quite accurately) that Ferry's label gave him NO money to do this album, so he pulled out his photo album and came up with these. I was relaxing in the back yard with one of my favorite induldences, PEOPLE MAGAZINE, when I turned onto the page of picks and pans which is their music critic of the week and was so astonished and thrilled to see Bryan Ferry!!!! a GREAT LOOKING PHOTO AND A VERY POSITIVE REVIEW!!! It reads: ALBUM OF THE WEEK....FRANTIC...bottom line; FERRY GOOD> Like a classic motorcycle or vintage wayfarers, Bryan Ferry is enduringly cool. On his first album of mostly original material since 1994, the former Roxy Music frontman remains the sultan of style, delivering a cocktail-party-ready collection of arty sophisto-pop. Incorporating blues, country and folk into his richly textured rock, Ferry creates a dreamy place where AVALON meets the heartland. Although Ferry has found a kindred songwriting partner in former Eurythmic Dave Stewart-with whom he composed four tunes, including the georgous "Goddess of Love"-he hasn't forgotten his roxy mates:He cowrote the lilting closer "I Thought" with Brian Eno, who also supplies backing vocals and keyboards, and brings in drummer Paul Thompson for a few good licks. Ultimately, though, this disc belongs to Ferry and his haunting tremelo. Not bad !!!!Pam in Atlanta.
