The singer says he was up for a role in the Sylvester Stallone film Cliffhanger But he says a movie career might have distracted him from his singing. "I think they saw me as a classic English villain in the Alan Rickman mould," Ferry told the Mail On Sunday's You magazine. "But it's probably a good thing it fell through - it might have sidetracked me from my music." Ferry's new album Frantic is released tomorrow. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 10:39:18 -0400 From: "M" Subject: [AVALON] Tatler > He is also in 'Tatler' today but the local shops here haven't heard of it, is it only available in England-shire?? From the Tatler site: http://www.tatler.co.uk/ ON THE ROAD AGAIN 'I eat meat. I shoot birds. I play snooker and tennis. To be a rock star, you don't have to wear an anorak and a horrible pair of trainers. You can put on elegant leather shoes and a Homburg.' Brian Ferry talks to Geordie Greig about the importance of having good manners, his museum-quality art collection, the plane horror that almost killed him, and his views on the House of Lords and hunting, as his new album, Frantic, comes out. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 16:53:54 +0100 From: "Chris Turner" Subject: [AVALON] Latest Round-up Folks, If you would like to read the fantastic review of Frantic in the Sunday Times, the excellent Q review, or the Q and A session from today's Mail on Sunday, they are all on my website at http://www.roxyrama.com/articles/index_articles-frameset.html I will be adding the excellent Uncut and Daily Express reviews later today. I am informed by Jim Lawn that Frantic is to be a forthcoming Album Of The Week on BBC Radio Two. This prestigious award means that the album will be featured throughout the station's programming. Radio Two is the nation's most listened-to radio station with over 8 million regular listeners. UK Record Label NMC are releasing a double CD set of Roxy Music's Musikladen performances on the 29th of April. This release combines the previously released Vintage and Valentine CDs into one package. The package includes the full video of the band performing eleven songs on West Germany TV in two sessions recorded in 1973 and 1974. This is not an official release. NMC have released a huge catalogue of material by many artists, usually licensed from broadcasters or concert venues. Full details here: http://www.roxyrama.com/interactive/interactive_news-frameset.html I'm told that the list of concerts that appear on Virgin's the-raft site is inaccurate. I will try to give you a more definitive list very soon.
