Gareth's home town) starting at 5am I finally made it for TOTP. I couldn't believe I'd been so lucky. A big thank you to everyone involved who made it possible. Bryan looked really good and much younger and slimmer than last year I thought. A really brilliant performance by him and the band. The floor manager and "Viv" did a great job too ( a bit of a comic he was - deserves his own show) It was a bit tiring waiting in the queue outside the BBC but I did meet some nice people and we had a good "roxy" chat. Hello to Dawn and a nice couple from Luton ?. It was good to meet you all. Hello also to Kaye -I was the tallish blond one in the bright pink jumper. I wasn't alone after all because by this time I'd met Dawn in the queue and we sort of "stuck together" throughout. I thorougly enjoyed myself and it was worth all the travelling, queuing, waiting, dashing around all over London on the underground and lack of sleep! I would'nt have missed it for the world. Can I just say also that I thought Gareth was excellent too - but then I do have a soft spot for him, coming from the same town. I guess he has put Bradford on the map for something nice for a change. Jim Lawn from Bryan Ferry's Office has asked me to pass on his sincere thanks to everyone that attended on Wednesday, and made the performance go so well. I personally had a great day. I wouldn't be at all upset if they were the tour support. Best of all though was meeting friends new and old - your enthusiasm made the day especially good. As his image was beamed onto the screen behind him, it reminded me of the TOTP footage of Dance Away 23 years earlier only this time Bryan looked even younger. His live vocal over the mimed backing track sounded good. Baby Blue is one of his most forceful vocals for years and I had wondered if he would include it in the live set for the forthcoming tour. He proved on Wednesday that it was no problem to do live and I look forward to it in the Summer. Goddess Of Love had a new edge to it with the live vocal and will hopefully make the set in the summer. Despite the 24 hour round trip on what Scotrail loosely call a 'Sleeper' car, it was worthwhile to meet all the usual faces and have our usual gig post-mortem in a nearby thirst palliate vending establishment.
