Sue me. This month's CD is Sonic Sirens, a Bite Me! Records double CD of Roxy Music -- and the Sirens -- performing live in Toronto in 1975. This is an average quality audience recording with some considerable crowd noise in places, but never enough to overshadow the awesome performance by the band, especially Eddie Jobson, who is truly incredible on this one. I am offering six further free copies of Sonic Sirens to list members. I'm expecting at least three of the people responding to commit that they will tree it on-list as well. *People who have agreed to tree it get their copies made first. If you tell me that you will tree it and you fail to do so, then I will not copy for you again. If you would like a copy of this boot, you must: 1. Be willing to send two good-quality blanks and a SASE for your copy. 2. Be one of the first six people to reply to this offer. 3. Tell me whether you're willing to make copies as well (about three or four, nothing maddening). 4. Reply by Friday the 22nd. 5. Understand that if you don't hear back from me, you must take my silence as a polite apology, that you were not one of the first six. (But you have nothing to lose in trying!) 6. Reply to me, and not the list. That would be silly. The song "Roxy Girl" I always thought was about a journalist who was a Roxy fan (several of their songs were anti- music press) with references to Sioxsie & the Banshees. If I ever knew who the journo was, I've forgotten. As Reecey says the lyrics on thier early stuff are hard to pick up (think Ramones playing at 78rpm) but the later stuff is quiet Beatle like, melodic & tuneful.
