As before the discussion is open to anything related to the song, and these are only suggestions: love it? hate it? lyrics/music it changed my life live vs. studio version(s) (if applicable) the video (if any) that reminds me... Help Me (Ferry/Rodgers) I'm a stranger far from home, won't you help me Gotta find where I belong, help me I don't wanna be alone, won't you help me Gotta find the way to home, help me I'm a prisoner to the night Life is hell in the light of the day But where do I hide from myself The shadow closes in There's nowhere I can run to There's a power in love There's a danger in love But I need love to help me find a way I'm a stranger far from home, won't you help me Gotta find where I belong, help me I'm a victim of the night Sold my soul, is it ever gonna pay? I beg you now, save me from myself Time is closing in There's no one I can turn to There's a power in love There's a danger in love But I need love to help me find a way I'm a stranger far from home, won't you help me Gotta find where I belong, help me 'Cause I don't wanna be alone, don't wanna be Gotta find a way to home, help me Bricks without a mortar Tearing me apart It turns me upside down The night time into day Wake me in the morning Tell me from the heart That I need love to help me find a way I'm a stranger far from home, won't you help me Gotta find where I belong, help me 'Cause I don't wanna be alone, I don't wanna be Gotta find a way to home, help me ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2002 09:16:19 EST From: RoxyMuzick@AOL.COM Subject: [AVALON] Legends actually my favorite songtrack is "Is your love strong enough" from the movie "Legends" Gregory http://www.aol.com/roxymuzick/myhomepage/profile.html ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2002 09:57:34 EST From: KWil632057@AOL.COM Subject: Re: [AVALON] SOTW: "Help Me" Cool. Very cool. Mainly due to the fact that 'Help Me' is a key line from the end of the original version of 'The Fly'. Video is tedious nonsense though, with Bryan singing while oblivious to fly legs shadows in the background. George Michael's early1990's project was I believe to be called Trojan Souls. Ferry was rumoured, probably without much foundation, to be a contributing artist, as were Elton John, Aretha Franklin and Anita Baker amongst others. Michael's continuing problems with Sony virtually flatlined the project, although it was briefly revived as this MTV story indicates: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1432152/19980804/story.jhtml Chris - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2002 3:04 PM Subject: Re: [AVALON] Quiz Question of the week! > I recall a project mentioned in the early/mid nineties called 'Trojan Horses' > which involved Bryan and i think George Michael... > > Anybody have a clue as to what happened with this, what song(s) where > involved etc? > > > Jonathan > > n/p Naomi Campbell 'Babywoman' > > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > The subliminable footer says: > To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: > unsubscribe avalon ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2002 18:40:19 -0500 From: "Grant Goggans" Subject: Re: [AVALON] ROIO >Date: Sat, 16 Feb 2002 22:09:39 -0500 >From: "Maggie Curran" >Subject: Re: [AVALON] ROIO > >Grant: > > Now you're confusing me.....what's the difference between bootleg, >bastard and ROIO? All sale bootlegs, traded tapes, swapped CDs, and even counterfeits of official copyrighted albums, were recorded illegitimately and can thus be referred to under the umbrella ROIO. I think the Grateful Dead people might have coined the term. Speaking of counterfeits, if nobody's had the chance to see first hand what a mammoth operation the Latino music counterfeiters have going, I'll tell you, it is one gigantic, impressive criminal enterprise. The volume I saw at the flea market this morning would stun an RIAA attorney stone dead. - --Grant _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2002 16:58:10 -0800 (PST) From: Johnny Reece Subject: [AVALON] 'Roxy' Songs The talk recently about Concrete Blondes 'Roxy' reminded me of a track I found recently, from 1977, by Radiators From Space, called 'Roxy Girl'. I'm not at all sure if it's particularly flattering though (it is difficult to make out all of the words) but it does contain the chorus line "Roxy Girl, you're my Mother Of Pearl". It's a typical punky little number. If any of you are on AudioGalaxy - it's there. I was told recently that Yello also did a song called Roxy Girl, though I've never heard it, or found it as yet, so don't know if it refers to fans of the Band, as the Radiators track seems to.
