Hasn't Bryan always had a great deal of input into to cover art for his albums? All those stories of Bryan dragging poor old Jerry up a Welsh cliff dressed as a siren, poor lass, while "Dai the Flash" hangs on for dear life in a force 10 gale, just to get the "money shot" on the dear old box brownie! Bryan running around the countryside in the nighttime (flash in hand) with two underwear clad ladies, desperately trying to get the right "angle"..........well it's not all work is it? As superficial as album covers are...I must say in Bryans case there is a certain importance (IMHO.) The editors reply that constant media exposure has robbed today's actresses of the mystery that makes a legend. We might apply this thought to Bryan who is maddeningly reclusive and distant, much to the dismay of his fans. Probably the new Frantic album cover is intended to convey mystery. I forget how cool these album were until I opened them up today and looked at them. Boy, you sure cant beat the size of the photos and artwork. The evening was full of the great and good performing Shakespeare sonnets which also appear alongside Bryan Ferry's Sonnet 18. One highlight was Dave and Annie of the Eurythmics performing together. Sonnet 18 was the final piece of the evening, played live by a small string orchestra including a lute. It was a great moment and then the man himself stepped from the wings to take position in front of the lead mike. OK, I'll come clean, it wasn't the man himself, Bryan Ferry's vocal contribution was replaced by Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
