It's always been going to the dogs, that's for certain. And if I remember right that's actually where Bryan and Lucy got married (wouldn't say Fittleworth was closer to Duncton than Petworth though). As for the dog, yes he did circulate that all around the area, the local paper said that he was concerned that the dog may have got to nearby farms and may have been worrying sheep. I don't think the dog was ever found. There you go Gina, you missed your chance! Enjoyable story though. I have just received the German DVDs Musikladen and The High Road. Have to say they are both brilliant if, as always, a little short on extras. Musikladen does at least have two 'bonus' tracks which are Oh Yeah and Over You with the line-up that features Paul Carrack and Gary Tibbs. Apologies to all if my memory has lapsed, but I don't recall having seen these two (even though I have Perfumed Sigh and the rest) before. Also, I didn't recall that the Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music video collection was available on DVD but I've just seen it on www.bol.com. I'm confused but then my head is in a whirl just now... I've learned that Bryan Ferry MAY be playing live in London on Feb 10 AND I have got my tickets already! There is an album of Shakespeare Sonnets coming out in UK on Feb 4 called When Love Speaks, a 53-track compilation of famous actors and singers performing the Bard's work. Naturally, hidden well away from public gaze, is the sonnet by Bryan Ferry which appeared on the Princess Diana and the recent Bryan Ferry ballad compilation. Details of the album can be found at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005UUOB/qid=1011504996/sr=1-/ref=s r_sp_re/026-2572280-6176423 More important than any of that is the benefit concert at London's The Old Vic theatre on Feb 10. On TV, there was a news item that announced this event to raise money for London's RADA theatre school with performances from the album. On TV, they mentioned that the audience might expect Alan Rickman, Robert Lindsay, Richard Attenborough, Annie Lennox and Bryan Ferry. But then, that may be only because they are five of the artists on the album. Tickets range between #14 and #45 (so expect Bill MacCormick to enter discussions online anytime soon!). The box office are as informed as ever they are. They have NO IDEA who to expect on the night. But I should say that there are only about five musical numbers on the album (Ladysmith Black Mambaso, Annie Lennox, Des Ree, Keb Moe and our Bryan) so the chances are much improved on his appearing than it would a particular actor who appears on one of the remaining 48 tracks. I'm taking my daughter Charlotte who's also hoping this will be her 6th sighting of El Ferrari. Me too, although I took out some insurance by snapping up two of the cheaper tickets available. Let me know if you decide to take the same gamble and maybe we could meet up? I kicked myself for letting the Meltdown festival go, so decided I couldn't miss out on this chance, even if it is far from certain.
