The same picture disc hung on my Atlanta wall as well for quite some time. I probably found it at Wax & Facts. It struck me (all those years ago) that picture discs made nicer bedroom wall decorations than posters, so I cleared all of them -- except for this gigantic Julian Cope one that was bigger than my bed -- and started putting picture discs on the wall. I was always so annoyed I couldn't find another copy of the "Don't Stop the Dance" picture 12" so I could have both sides of the record up there. And the $25 every dealer asked for the "Manifesto" pic disc was more than my high school budget could justify for a record I already had, so I never got it. In fact, I never found any other Ferry picture discs, though I convinced myself that Baktabak Records had a mountain of unreleased interviews that they would release any day now. And the prettiest on my wall? Guadalcanal Diary's "Walking in the Shadow of the Big Man." That looks *so* cool on a picture disc. Even though I don't have a bedroom with all the disaffected suburban 80s high school punk angst, I've been tempted to frame and hang that one in my grown-up wall. I don't have the CD from the show in Helsinki, but last year, on a rainy winter's night in London, an unnamed Avalonian pressed the catalogue and accompanying CDs from the Hayward Gallery's "Sonic Boom/The Art of Sound" into my hands, and sped off into the night. Included in the show, and in the catalogue/CDs is an excerpt from "Kite Stories." Colleen P.S. Above my computer are 2 enlarged photos taken at SECC on September 29 last year, a collage of other photos taken that evening, tickets, flyer from Hammersmith, stickers and 2 Manzanera guitar picks. In pride of place (??) however is what was a very nasty clock my mother gave me which my friend and I "enhanced", at about 2am one morning last Summer as we polished off a 3rd bottle of wine, with lots of little pics of Bryan and other Ferry related stuff. It's not a thing of beauty, but it seemed like a good idea at the time and we had so much fun doing it that it always makes me smile. It took me days to get the glue off my fingers and the table.
