I'll be seeing them Sunday night; wonder if they'll nod in George's direction? Arnie At the last date of that tour which was in Chicago(Rosemont Theatre), for one of the encores Adrian did Free as a Bird and I was floored. His guitar sound just like the piano Paul played on the record. I was very moved by that. Adrian's obviously a big Beatle fan so I'm sure he/they will pay tribute. I'm sorry I did not see King Crimson last Saturday night here in Chicago. I was out of town. Damn! I found I had to boot up from Safe Mode (which uses the minimum amount of Windows files required and then rename the infected files). All the details of what to do are on the website recommended by Daniel: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.badtrans.b@mm.html Kari, as regards the coincedence of using a subject title that you may recognise. I don't think it's a coincedence! I think the virus maybe looks through your files for the subject of an unopened mail. Very nasty and I guess clever,as it lulls us into a false sense of trust. I got a mail from Bryan O'Connor with the subject title DVD extras. Something I've posted about in the past. There's an attachment and I'm thinking WOW some inside info, and of course I jumped in with both feet. Hotmail scans it's mail with Macafee, so I guess I had in the back of my mind it was safe. No such luck! As the attachment downloads , I get a warning saying a virus has been detected and then a warning saying that the virus hasn't been killed! Well, at least I had the warning and wasn't ignorant of the fact that I'd been infected. It took a couple a of hours to sort out what I should be doing and to do it though. D&C Is it still? BF Yeah, up to a point. I mean, I get bogged down now and again by the whole business of marketing; the negative reactions of the people in charge. Record companies don't seem to be staffed by enthusiasts anymore, but by business men who quite fancy being in the music business. That's how it appears to me. It sounds like sour grapes I know. D&C It seems that you find the whole business of marketing yourself somewhat discouraging, even confusing. BF Absolutely. While I quite like sitting here talking with you , the whole idea of selling my work, ie talking about myself, doing interviews fills me with dread you can't imagine. D&C Well, you're alot more relaxed than the last time about eight years ago, when I interviewed you for MTV.. BF Oh well that was becasue you were filming me then. I hate being filmed and photographed. D&C What I'm trying to say is that I don't think you're being given the proper support. I'm not trying to knock your PR people or those who work for you. I'm saying that your status in the industry should be higher, and would be, if your record company did more work. BF Right, right. Hmmmm. What I'm planning to do is a TV special for the album. That's in the pipeline with the BBC. It won't be exactly what I want in terms of quality but I think its a nice thing to finally do. Ten songs over 40 minutes, a kind of Cotton Club feel to it. D&C Have you ever done a South Bank Special? BF No, I don't like the idea of cameras folowing me around. They've talked about it, but...well I know Melvyn Bragg (presenter & producer of SBS) very well. Maybe we could do it for the next album... The actually titled is "Daydream" and it`s usually a standard on every tour. Look for a bootleg of the '75 London radio broadcast (commonly referred to as "Live in London" or "Too Rolling Stoned") It contains a version of Daydream that is just mind-blowing. The solo/instrumental performed here is, IMO, one of the "all time" greatest ever recorded.....the best I`ve ever heard, anyway. (Well, maybe second only to the 14 minuet version of Fat Old Sun by Pink Floyd during a '71 Playhouse Theater performance) Contact me off list if you`d like a copy of either.
