Subject: [AVALON] Re: Sun Tribute CD Thanks members for the contribution, on my post. The record shop clerk loved Ferry , was not surprised it was because of Ferry I was buying the CD. ( But its all good) He said" it's a shame when you mention Bryan Ferry to the younger generation ( he was around 30-35 ) they have no idea who he is". He just seemed glad to have a chance to talk about him to someone who knew of his work. We enlightened each other for a while, BTW (is what) we should do here. In this day & time we could all use a bit of praise & encouragement from our fellow men/women. ----Ferry's ," Don't Be Cruel", isn't as good as the King's, but it is definitely the next best thing.Hope to hear what others think of this CD. Just served a customer in my shop here, desperate to find a Stones track he's been looking for 'for many years'. The track was, apparently, called 'Albert'. I insisted they had never done such a track, but looked anyway in the archives, in case it was some long lost B side or something. He then decided 'hang on, it might be called Alfie'. After telling him no, not that either, I realised what it was he was looking for - and he agreed. Angie. Sometimes this job is just a joy. Reecey... PS This does pale into significance compared to my all-time favourite - a customer wanting 'Alex The Seal' for her child. Turned out to be 'Our Lips Are Sealed' by the Fun Boy Three. The sound quality of the Stockholm recording depends on the source. The original pressing is the best, being taken from the TV broadcast. Biva! is also one of my favorite live albums and the first Roxy album I bought on CD.
