Went to their hunting lodge south of Paris where I found out not being able to speak French was a distinct disadvantage. We rehearsed a lot and they 'borrowed' one of my riffs for a song on an album I can't remember that came out in 1973. BM PS Saw Didier Malherbe about a year ago at the Royal Festival Hall. This is the most addictive Ferry song for me. I bought the CD the moment it came out and (after listening to the entire thing) played only this track, over and over. This recurs whenever I play the CD; when I eventually tear myself away from it for a while, I fall right back into its clutches if I allow myself near it. Like many of Ferry's better post-Roxy numbers, for me the song is 'about' sexual addiction but this is the only one that actually seems to cause compulsive behavior. And why does the repetitive background figure sound so familiar? I saw an ad for the "Best Buy" chain. The promo said songs by Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and more. Our poor Bryan is relegated to "and more" status. Well that's what happens when you disappear from the rock landscape. Has Virgin dropped the idea of the Ferry box set we use to hear so much about? I know we don't need another compilation but Bryan has so much material never released on a Ferry album. Singles, Movie soundtracks, Charity albums, Live aid, aborted Horoscope material Etc. I've been revisiting Bryan's song "The death of me". How this jewel never wound up on Mamouna and the song Wildcat Days did, is beyond me. Running out of time. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Oct 2001 23:22:53 -0800 From: "Keith Shockley" Subject: [AVALON] Roxy Music "In Concert" Back in the early 70's (I'm guessing For your Pleasure tour) Roxy performed on the ABC network music series "In Concert".
