Hello everyone! Further to the discussion on the TMOQ discs, if there are any Australian or New Zealanders out there who are wondering what happened to the Australian branches for these discs, don't worry! Gene sent me the discs last week, and as soon as they arrive I'll make an announcement on the list, and get a-burning. The tragedy in New York has (understandably) affected the mailing speed on this one, but they should be here very soon. While, I'm at this, I suppose I should introduce myself to the list, as I've been lurking for a few months, but ( I think ) this is my first posting. My name is Doug, I live in Melbourne, Australia, and I've been into Ferry and Roxy ever since I saw the clip for "This Is Tomorrow" on Countdown in 1977, and rushed out to buy the single the very next day. Heck, I was only 12, but I knew that Chris Spedding was cool!!! Interest in Roxy soon followed, and I've never looked back. I've seen Bryan a few times solo over the years, but finally I was lucky enough to see Roxy in Melbourne this year (sixth row!!) and was not disappointed. They rocked!!! Easily one of the best shows that I have ever been to - sheer perfection! (No "Mother Of Pearl" though...) Anyway, thanks for the bandwidth. I'll post again when I've received the cds. (Thanks Gene!). Have fun! - Doug - -----Original Message----- From: ASchulberg@aol.com To: avalon@smoe.org Date: Sunday, October 14, 2001 11:28 PM Subject: Re: [AVALON] Re: TMOQ shows >In a message dated 10/14/2001 3:13:19 AM Eastern Daylight Time, >awwwww@nc.rr.com writes: > > >> I've been able to get in on many of the recent offers, due to the generosity >> of many on this list. As for today, well, I was in the process of preparing a post. This reads more petulant than I feel, by the way. But one can always drop me a private email to see if I need assistance. I was incredibly entertained by his playing in Concord at the Roxy date I caught, but my other knowledge of his work has pretty much been limited to what people have said here on Avalon. Well, I was just listening to Jack Bruce's Songs For A Tailor album and glanced at the liner notes to see who was playing guitar on "Theme From An Imaginary Western" and there was Chris Spedding's name staring right back at me. He played guitar on Bruce's Harmony Row album, as well. Excellent stuff. - -Rob (learning the faith) ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 17:06:03 -0400 From: "Gina A.
