He seemed to be the only one who showed true emotion. He seemed to be the only one who truly understood the situation. His concern, gave me a bit of hope that maybe the allies can now truly unite to eradicate most terrorism from the world. Hey y'all, thanks for all the kindest words from all to all... (try to ignore the few others...) Maria and I went out last night to see a local band, friends of ours, just to be with folks we loved well, and the band opened with "What's Going On", expressing sentiments that we all could share. Daniel, thanks for the timely reprint of the lyrics. I'm new to the Avalon community, but warmed by the obvious love amongst us all... and indeed, in the long run, we'll have to look for love as a way through this. I suspect the US is essentially indefensible to this kind of activity, and in the end, we will have to find a way to make fewer, less ferocious enemies, if we are ever to live with a full sense of security. In time, I hope we will start to ask these questions... We all have friends in the US and I think >their lives are more important than the topic of this list! So you have annointed yourself the arbiter of what is important. Nothing can be more relevant to a Roxy/Ferry list than Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry. I refuse to let terrorists ruin my appreciation for the finer things in life. ie music, friends, a funny movie or a good laugh. The reason I joined this list was for information specifically about Ferry/Roxy...Thus my comments about other forums. There are radio stations, chat rooms etc that these discussions would be more appropiate for dissemination. Those preaching compassion direct venom at me. I think the paradox here is that you can't even hate hatred. This is something Mr Dylan (Bryan Ferry is a big fan mind you) brought to our attention decades ago. So, if it makes you feel better to demonize me with the 'how dare you' tone, go right ahead. I feel saddened by these events too..But I'm wondering whether "don't be cruel" (how Ironic) will be released on on the 2nd or the 18th of oct., as I've heard varying reports. If anyone has an advanced copy please rip into mp3's so the rest of us can download. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 20:45:01 -0700 From: "Eman 97" Subject: [AVALON] more ways to help >>World Trade Center Relief Fund PO Box 5028 Albany, NY 12205 >>The New York Community Trust The September 11th Fund 2 Park Avenue New York, NY 10016 _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2001 16:04:24 +1200 From: Kamaya.Yates@police.govt.nz Subject: [AVALON] my thoughts and prayers are with you all... I remember quite vividly when the Rainbow Warrior was bombed in Auckland Harbour, New Zealand in 1984 by French secret service agents. The feelings of disbelief and outrage and fear just sit in your stomach and you just can't believe that it has really happened. Your country has been violated - for what purpose? Will there be more attacks? Who did it? Why? The magnitude of the terror in America is beyond my ability to comprehend. I can only offer my thoughts and prayers. I especially want to pray for the NYPD and especially those officers at the police museum - it was in the fall out zone. I just hope that they are ok.
