I always thought the arena is more suited for Kiss or Bon Jovi or some other big-haired band or bubblehead boy bands like the Backstreet Boys for the suburban set. Roxy sounded great even though the acoustics at the place are a battle. This is my favorite band and my favorite singer and I'm not into going to concerts so I was glued to my seat the whole time. And having to listen to one of the guys tell his wife or girlfriend "listen to this woman ( during Avalon) she sings real high". I loved the show. I liked Bryan's white jacket look the best. I was happy to hear him really sing again. I liked his last solo tour I felt that he was a bit more reserved and too laid back. This I could tell he really had lot of fun with and the cheering was deafening so Bryan and the band really fed off it. I thought the go go girls were cute but the showgirls were visually too much at the end. Actually my favorite dancer was that lone woman way at the upper berth who was dancing all alone and apparently having a ball. I thought the violinist was great but she almost had as much fanfare as the original members. i mean she was good but not Eddie Jobson She just played his same riffs. My only beef with her was that as a Roxy female musician she needs to glam it up a bit wearing kind of a drab outfit at least from my vantage point. I of course love all the songs Roxy played. I wish though that someday they would do a show of more rarities and include Spin Me Round or my silly favorite The Bogus Man. I just love Bryan Ferry though. I love the way he skipped across the stage at one point. And he always has that eleant/goofy image on stage. I don't know why reviewers always called him a cold performer. I don't think they got the act. I never thought he took himself that seriously myself and that's always been his charm with me. And what's with the audience. Geez I really saw some oldsters. I love all these people who get out of their chairs and start rocking with Love is the Drug. And don't people dress up any more? I remember running into a bunch of 50's prom queens with the elbow length white gloves at Bryan's In Your Mind concert at the Uptown Theatre eons ago. I did see one young woman with a black hat with black cherries and a vintage black dress and really Snow White skin. Obviously staying out of our hot sun. One huge complaint besides no toilet papaer at the end of the show was running out of tourbooks. Does anyone know how to get one? Please let me know and if anyone could send me one let me know and I'll pay for the postage, price etc. Anyway too bad Roxy didn't play 2 nites as per usual when they come to Chicago.
