Seeing Roxy in Glagow last month has started the juices flowing I have been listening to all the albums, bootlegs, live tapes etc. Although I still went to see Ferry when he came to Scotland, I don't have any live recordings from late 80s through the 90s. To get straight to the point, is there anyone out there who is willing to share, swap or sell any live Ferry recording from this period. It's an attempt to cut down messages on the list which will be of interest only to a very few Avalonians and so we can meet (or avoid!) other list members at those concerts we attend. A new page for the autumn UK tour will be put up soon. If you'd like to be included, here's how: 1. You email me off list at Roxy_Tour@squires.nildram.co.uk and let me know which date or dates you'll be at. 2. I will put information received up on: http://www.squires.nildram.co.uk/Avalon.html 3. Everybody will then know who's likely to be at each show and can then make contact _off list_ if they so wish. Details of a venue for a pre or post gig meeting can also be posted to the web page via the above address. Thanks to everyone who has contacted me so far - I hope it's been useful! Wembley Box Office claim not to know about another London date but they have nothing on at the Arena until October 2nd so another Wembley date (which is only 15 mins on the train for me) is possible for 30th Sept. or 1st Oct. My problem will arise if nothing is announced before Monday when I have to pay for the Glasgow tickets, and they subsequently announce London. I can't help thinking it makes sense to finish the tour in London with a 50th gig as promised and I presume I will be able to sell on the Glasgow tickets if necessary. I'd be very surprised if they don't. I reckon they'll make it the last Gig of the tour. I'd also guess that one of the reasons they're doing Glasgow is that from the accounts that I've heard it tend's to usually have more enthusiastic crowds than some other venues. I guess that Manchester MEN is on the list as it's "reasonably" central and the biggest Arena in the U.K (approx 18,000) - which makes for a good pay-day. The Roxy gig in Manchester earlier this year was a good one. But once again the ticket agencies get the upper hand being able to sell tickets from 8am. I got mine from the venue (box office opened at 10am)- luckily I managed to get good seats (however the first 4 rows centre block had been sold via the agencies) - no way did I want to pay booking fees etc.. to the agencies on principle.
