While I do not purport to have a complete understanding of this "Rocket Science" procedure, I will still try to explain as best as I can. Please understand all final answers can be had by calling 404.233.2227 and that this is the local venues procedures and not those set up by the Roxy Music. Ready? OK..... One cannot purchase single tickets until June 23. Today one can purchase tix for two events "a mini-series." I asked for best seats for Roxy Music & Lyle Lovett. I was quoted Row P and back with pricing at $74.50 for Roxy and $41.50 for Lyle Lovett. They can't give you exact seating but the front part of the Amphitheatre is reserved for full season subscribers and so any of the tables, box seats and front orchestra seats are not available. When single tickets go on sale on June 23rd, who knows? Also called American Express Gold Card number listed in today's paper to see if I could do any better on a mini-series ticket and was told that Row S to Row BB is what they'd have available. Having been through all this with Chastain in prior years, I knew that to get a good seat one would unfortunately have to obtain tickets through a broker. And I did just that yesterday. I bought myself really excellent box seats on Row One. There are 4 rows of box seats and unless one wants to purchase an entire table for $900 for the night (six seats) the box seats are the best you can do. These sell for $150. If you are still sitting up (and not flat on the floor pounding with fists), you might consider doing this. I had listed myself with a broker back in March so I could get the best of the best. He called me yesterday and advised which table and box tickets had already been turned in to him. So if you are so inclined, you can telephone Matthew at (800) 730-7373 or (404) 365-0555. He has already had a few tables and box seats turned in and there will be more as people firm up their summer plans. If you do call Matthew at Theatre Tickets (also listed as Encore Tickets) please say you are a member of AVALON, so he will know you want Roxy tickets and he will do best he can to help you. He does not charge you before he has an actual ticket to sell. I know that $150 stings...I certainly felt the bite yesterday. Sorry for the length of this post, but thought you'd want to know all of the details as soon as possible. On the bright side, I suppose $150 divided by 18 years puts things in proper perspective. And Chastain is a romantic setting with all the table candles burning, etc. And I can't wait!! Good luck & best wishes, Maggie _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/ ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Jun 2001 10:13:47 -0700 (PDT) From: David Firmin Subject: [AVALON] Operating on his own frequency I just read a great Thom Yorke article in the LA Times. They are deliberately avoiding the trappings of super stardom and releasing what THEY want. Any pointers on their best work? Q magazine listed the 100 Greatest British albums of all time. OK Computer was 2nd, following Revolver. Roxy was also on the list, For Your Pleasure was #35. David *** Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
