My success rate re 'posting' hasn't been too successful lately (2 out of 10 have come through - which both said 'test' ) so fingers crossed for this little message. Picking up on Andy Mols comment re the forthcoming Rotterdam Gig, : "front row centre stage for Reecey" - hey Andy, how about the backstage passes for the party though ? And of course William, who then mused on the forthcoming Roxy tour by saying : "Reecey discovered there's no harp and unsubscribed"... Well, just because there's no harp - certainly doesn't mean that there's no Julia, I'll have you know... Re 'A Rhapsody Divine' and 'Penthouse Perfection' Vids - yes, we've extended the 'deadline' to 28th May for orders, as the turnaround in copying the Vids should only be 4 or 5 days, so we've got a little bit more time than we thought. But - please don't leave it too late ! The 28th of May is the day I have to quote the exact number of Vids to be done, so please contact me by then, if you're salivating for them. We were going to have a 'second run' of the Vids in Sept or Oct - this will NOT now happen, as the costs for running just an extra few off only will be too high. So, this is it - by May 28th it is, or forever hold your thingy. The Printer here has been chugging away for 15 hours solid today, working overtime on Vid Covers and Vid inserts. (I'm going to give it the day off tomorrow) As for the opening songs thread which I'm way behind on, if I had to pick a fave over the years, it was Sentimental Fool, not only my fave Roxy song, but just an incredible start to a gig. This time, I do think 'Flesh And Blood' could work, if done nice and powerfully, if they're in the mood for a 'Ferry eventually strolls on' type beginning. I still think it'll be Virginia Plain though. Me, counting ? Yes, actually, truth be told. It's 37 days to Dublin. And 20 days to the BBC gig. No sleep till Hammersmith, as they say. Reecey... Hey, very few old faces here that I recognize :( I've been gone for a year, but of course with the tour eminent had to pop back in! Anyone planning on attending the Vancouver BC concert? Anyone know anything about that venue - GM Stadium? Ciao, Angela - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nigel Hollis" To: "avalon digest" Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2001 7:19 AM Subject: [AVALON] AVALON - Editions of me Hello Roxy Fans Worldwide! My name is Nigel and I have recently joined the list. First of all my thanks to "Reecey" for sending some videos (including Cirque Royale - excellent) to me. I have been a fan ever since circa 1972 when on holiday in some grotty caravan park in Wales (no, I am not doing an Anne Robinson - this place was the pits!) wandering around with a freind who had a "three shilling" portable cassette player which, on full volume, consumed five U2 batteries in a single play of Roxy 1. I listened to this album (no choice) for a whole week, but it grew on me bit by bit, and by the time I returned home I was pretty much hooked. Then, my next encounter with Mr Ferry was one boring Saturday night (no money to go to the pub I expect) and happened to be watching the Cilla (sad) Black show and there he was singing T.F.T. Well that was it, he was the man to watch! The really sad bit is, that for some reason or other, I have never got around to seeing Roxy live, and, until the A.T.G.B. at Royal Fest. have never seen the man. Reading all of your various mailings it confirms what I know I have missed. That is until now. So I will be attending Wembley for two nights, with a hotel and two days in London - don`t care what it costs - I have some catching up to do. Look forward to meeting some of you I hope! Nigel. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 May 2001 20:32:01 -0400 From: "tmoq" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Atlanta Roxy Date and the rest of the Tour - -----Original Message----- From: Miles Goosens To: avalon@smoe.org Date: Thursday, May 03, 2001 6:18 PM Subject: Re: [AVALON] Atlanta Roxy Date and the rest of the Tour (snip) > >The delay is frustrating me too! The sooner I can land the tickets and book all of the needed reservations, the sooner I can get on with worrying about other things. The summer tourist season is almost on us and I need to set this thing in stone before it`s too late....which isn`t far off. This waiting is killing me.
